How do I get my hair lovely and shiny?

Hairdresser does it and its all sheeny shiny - I do it and its dull and boring. I don't like loads of product like 'shine' sprays etc and only usually use mousse (hair really fine). Any advice?

Wash it in as cold water as you can stand! Also a good blow dry is great for shine

Eat good fats: avocado, salmon, nuts etc.

Or just use serum.

I had to ditch all hair products, including mousse, and switched to SLS-free Moogoo. My hair has never been softer or shinier, my hairdresser comments on it every time.
I always thought my super fine hair couldn't live without mousse, but it's fine note the pun

I've never even heard of Moogoo! I'm off to Google! Grin

Pantene smooth and sleek conditioner.

Mousse matifies your hair doesn't it? So I'd stop using that

Best thing is to dye your hair a really nice rich dark brown.

I love Davines All In One Milk

And sometimes use a little serum

Buy a Babyliss Big Hair. It blow dries like a professional and makes your hair really swishy and shiny.

Scarydinosaurs · 09/08/2016 21:19

Moogoo makes my hair super shiny too. Their protein shot is amazing.

I also think the hairdryer makes a huge difference too.

Also- I have brazillian blow dries every 8/9 months, not for straight hair, but to stop the 'frizz' and keep silky shiny.

Blow dry your hair with the dryer aimed from the top of your head down. You need the nozzle to direct the air along the hair shaft. You can add a big round brush in your other hand. Your arms get very tired, but nothing other than a good blow dry comes close for shiny hair.

Apple cider vinegar as your final rinse

Aussie shine shampoo and conditioner with a drop of their serum. I've fine hair too and have had several friends ask what I use.
