What shoes with ankle pants in cold weather?

That really. What shoes or boots do you wear with ankle grazing skinnies when the weather gets a bit chilly around the ankles? If you wear shoes rather than boots, how do you keep the bit between your shoes and the bottom of your trousers warm?

If it were that cold, I wouldn't wear ankle-skimmers! Definitely a Spring/Summer/Autumn look only.

I've just bought some fab ankle skimming trousers and once it's too cold for brogues, I'm going to try them with ankle boots.

I may however look an arse.
