What's your favourite MAC makeup?

I'm getting makeup done at the MAC counter before an event - there's a deposit which is redeemable on product, roughly £50 but I'm willing to spend more if need be. I'm wondering if anyone has any MAC recommendations? I haven't used it much before, have used Ruby Woo in the past which was very drying on me, but from reading reviews that seems well known!

I'm sure the women at the counter will be able to make suggestions but was curious if there's anything anyone here loves or hates.

(If it's relevant - I normally use Nars Sheer Glow foundation (in Mont Blanc) and Benefit They're Real mascara, but for everything else - blush, bronzer, eyeshadow, lipstick etc - I have a real assortment.)

I love Mac products some of my personalise favs are
Fixed + (can be used in 101 different ways)
Sculpting and highlighting powders
Mineralised blush
Various lippies
Translucent powder
Paint pots
Their eyeshadow have great colour play on them.
I use one of their flesh toned chromograhpic pencils in the water line (makes you look just awake and sparkler eyed)
I love their foundation and concealer but this is a personalise choice.

Oh sorry 1 more

Their prep and prime highlight pen is fab

PitilessYank · 03/08/2016 04:06

Their loose glitter is gorgeous, and I really like their Pro Eye Makeup Remover- it is nice and gentle.

(Yes, I am nearly 50 and I still toss glitter onto my face on occasion. Love it.)

The MAC nail polishes are pretty good, but for long-wearing nail polish, I prefer NARS.

I like their blushers, huge range of colour etc and I've found them long lasting. I'm using one just now called whole lotta love. It looks really pink in the pan but gives me a really natural looking glow.

I like their lip glosses (lip glass I think they're called Confused). Pretty in pink is my favourite.

I used the pro long wear foundation for years but now use Clinique and think it's much better. I still like their blot powder though.

Don't rate their mascaras at all. Strobe cream is good but boots botanical do a dupe which I think is better.

I've got a few eyeshadow from there but I'd be lost without my Russian Red lipstick.

LemonDr1zzle · 03/08/2016 08:34

Blot powder is a repeat buy for me. I also like their lip glosses, paint pots and gel liners. You could always buy brushes instead of make up if you're really stuck, mine have lasted really well.

Botanicbaby · 03/08/2016 10:24

I only like their lipsticks. Russian Red is my favourite. They have some nice nudes too.

Love MAC lipsticks

lurkingfromhome · 04/08/2016 17:53

Syrup, Twig and Capricious lipsticks. Love them all

Face and body foundation is lovely, quite sheer but you can build it up to medium coverage. I'm blonde and I also like omega eyeshadow with an angled brush to fill in my eyebrows, and mineralise skin finish in soft and gentle (a highlighter).

SouthernComforts · 04/08/2016 18:06

I've just bought the soft and gentle highlighter, I love it.

I don't rate thier matte bronzer but the shimmer one is good.

I've got a travel set of brushes I use loads.

My absolute favourite lipstick is Fabby. (I find some of them drying too but this one isn't too bad)
