Can anyone tell me if Lady V normally stock a range of fitted styles? They only seem to have one (plus a wedding dress). Is this because of the sale?

Well, it's all 50's style, but yes, I'd say they normally have about 12 different styles, each in multiple fabrics.

But usually only one wiggle dress

Thanks very much. Disappointing to hear - although I like the flared dresses they just make my hips look enormous. I suit a wiggle dress.

You probably know them already, but Lindy Bop do lots of wiggle dresses. [http://www.getcutie.co.uk/dresses/index.html Get Cutie]] are more expensive, but they do loads of 50s styles, and they're fabulous. (All made in Brighton too, so they'll make up a style to your size in your preferred fabric if you don't mind the wait.)

Sorry, link fail Get cutie

pisaleaner · 02/08/2016 21:52

Thank you, yes I have seen those two. I really don't suit ice-cream colours or black or red which can rule out quite a lot (I don't do cutesy either). And they have to be long enough.

Just looked at Get Cutie and the dresses seem wildly overpriced - based on the fabric and website imagery. A distinct lack of investment in photography. I wouldn't pay £150 for a day dress I can only see as a simple 2D image. How strange for an online company to survive with that marketing.

Sadik · 02/08/2016 22:09

They have a shop in Brighton, Diana - tbh I probably wouldn't buy from the website as the great thing with them is fabric & fit. Agree they're expensive, but the two dresses I have from them I've worn and worn over many years, so for me they were a good investment.

I've not tried them but I know a lot of people are keen on Colletif dresses. I think they're a bit more than Lady V or Lindy Bop.
