Has anyone tried the ice-facial?

I've just had a consultation for an ice-facial from CryoSkin. It sounds great but it's expensive & I would like others opinions before I go ahead & commit.

I've went to a very reputable clinic & it's very professional. They have talked me through the treatment & shown me the technology that will be used. I've seen before & after pictures but I don't know anyone else who's had it done.

My skin is dry in places with redness across my nose & cheeks. I've also got those awful laughter lines that I hope this will diminish a little.

My local salon has started offering:

"Cryolipoylsis commonly known as 'fat freezing' is a highly effective treatment that uses advanced cooling technology to freeze fat cells to minus temperatures which results in localised cell death. These cells are then removed from the body by the bodies natural processes."

Not sure if it's the same thing or not but I think it sounds like an utter con and a waste of money I don't know anyone who has had it done, sorry to not be more helpful.

Is your skin really that bad? I'm very wary of gimmicky new treatments that promise the earth to people

Sorry, but it sounds like a gimmick to me too. I see a dermatologist for my skin and she says facials are all a waste of time. One other thing I learned from her, that this brings to mind, is that you should never put very warm/hot or very cold water on your face (ie wash with tepid water) - so the idea of an ice treatment just sounds odd to me.

If it works ("The skin will appear glowing and luminous straight after treatment") it's probably just because the face has been massaged and moisturised

If you have skin issues I'd spend your money on seeing a derm instead, for proper long term solutions.

Hi thanks for the replies. Yes, Blair that's it. Although the salon also offers the above lipo thing too.

I am feeling really old at the min & thought this would be a great alternative to Botox as that's the next step I'll take.

My skins not really bad as such. It's just I have really aged due to several major stressors in the last year. I feel/have been told I look older than I am.

I've trod various other things but nothing's really worked. For instance I have a great skin care routine & dine have any spots blemishes just the dry/red patches. I've also have my hair done every six weeks & my teeth aren't bad.

Like I say it's kind of the next step. Spoke to DH about it & he thinks I should try it if I want to because he hates the idea of Botox & he knows am serious about it next.

What are the body's natural processes?
