How to get eyeliner to stay on

I like to wear eyeliner on my top lids. Sometimes a pencil (at the moment I use Bourjois Kohl, and sometimes a pen (No.7 stay precise at the moment - this is a felt tip style pen because I haven't the patience for the brush type ones).

However, it never lasts very long - half a day at most. I do not wear eyeshadow, and apply it to a bare lid - is this where I am going wrong? Can anyone advise me what should I do instead? (I wear minimal, natural make-up, so nothing with too much faff would suit me)

Well, I have been wearing the Collection eyeliner, and it does stay on all day. It makes the effort of applying it feel worthwhile!

I use seventeen drama something. It is fabulous much better than Nars and Bobbi Brown.

Also, I'm totally cack handed but with practice I can now apply the eyeliner one handed while at a traffic light (handbrake on, obvs).
