Help 30 something with English beach wear

Hi everyone, am going to Devon in a few weeks time and I need some ideas for the beach. I'd love some swim shorts and comfy beach dresses? Can you help?

Maybe try sarongs? They're easy to put over swimsuits and bikinis and especially if it's not that warm then they add an extra layer while still looking summery!
