Help please: Top for a wedding

Thanks so much anyone who can help.

I am going to a wedding and will need to wear trousers as I look dreadful in all dresses. I would really like a top which is a little dressy/funky but have no clue where to look. (See, I don't even know if funky is a dated term when describing what I am after).

I am a short, very petite but fat lady, (sound appealing don't I), who is so out of touch with style that I have no clue which brands and stores would do the kind of thing I am after. I can't remember the last time I bought myself anything that wasn't from Matalan or a supermarket.

I am happy to work whatever colour trousers if I can find a nice "feature" top. Will probably need sleeves.
Does anyone have any links to places that do the sort of thing I am after?

What size and sort of shape are you, apple or pear?
Large or small of chest? What colours suit you and what's the budget?

Will you wear wide or straight legged trousers?

This sort of thing?
Questions, questions...

Thanks, yes I forgot to add shape etc!
I suppose I am an apple with no waist etc and will wear straight legged trousers. (wide legged on a short lady = horrendous in my view)..
Happy to explore colours but large patterns look silly on me.
Thanks so much for the links :)
