Which dress?

Off to sunny Spain in a couple of weeks, and inspired by Remus, I tried on a couple of dresses in the local indy store over lunch.

Liked 2 dresses (unfortunately can only find one online: mazeclothing.co.uk/products/indi-cold-palm-dress).

So this one is cheaper, 100% cotton and lined. Quite short, has pockets.

The other is this style: www.manufactuur.be/en/collection/cat-dresses/dress-right.html but a different colour way (navy and ecru, similar to the other one, different pattern too). This one is slightly above the knee, flowy but 100% viscose (but decent quality viscose). Also £70, so more expensive.

So would you go for the thicker 100% cotton one or the thinner viscose one, based 90% on the heat of Spain in August??

The navy dress looks so much nicer, regardless.

First one. 100%.

I think it depends what they look like on you. Dress 1 is less flattering on the model than dress 2; it looks a much looser cut.

Thanks everyone. They both suited, although the blue one above is a bit shorter (but does have pockets...).

Here's a (tiny) photo to give an idea of the Colour/pattern of dress 2:

Would a (cotton) lined dress be too hot to wear??

Definitely the blue one. The red one looks like you've escaped from a slasher film.

carrie74 · 28/07/2016 15:57

It's not the actual red one, that's just the shape, the colour and pattern is blue/ecru

I really like the red. Then again slasher film style sounds pretty good to me!

carrie74 · 28/07/2016 16:13

I did try the actual red one too, but it didn't really work, and I had visions of my hot, sweaty face matching too closely...

So I went back to the shop after work, and they'd only gone and sold the first one. Which meant I had to have it. Went a-googling this evening and have ordered it from 2 different places in case they tell me they've sold out too!!
