Urgent advice for 40 year old make up virgin please

Hi,
I've got a wedding tomorrow. Dress and shoes sorted - dress is navy and patterned, shoes navy.
I was thinking of finding dark purple for nails. Is this okay? Or is something else better? Are toes and fingers best the same? No time for a manicure (and nails are too short anyway).
And eyes? Eyebrows are shaped and tinted, lashes are tinted blue-black as normal. I have literally no idea about eye shadow. How do I sort this? I can get to a smallish Boots today.
Hair is short and dark. Eyes hazel-brown.

Wearing similar to a wedding today. Navy toenails and then pale pearl on my fingers as they are very short and dark looks bad on short. The boots might have a make up consultant to help you. A lot of the eye shadow palettes have diagrams on the back to show you where to put it. I think a bit of blusher helps and a lip salve with a tint.

I agree, dark on toes, paler on fingers. A really glossy clear top coat over any nail varnish will make it look more professional and give it some staying power.

If you never wear eyeshadow, I wouldn't bother. You have your eyebrows and lashes tinted so I would curl lashes and use lots of black mascara. Maybe some black eyeliner on top lid, flicking out slightly at corners?
A pinkish blusher blended well and some lip gloss will make you look more polished and a dab of concealer just where you need it, under eyes, on any blemishes.

I'd go coral toes and fingers with that dress. The idea that matching toes and fingers look 'dated' has been around so long that it's becoming dated itself.

If you want to try eye shadow there are some great you tube tutorials. Keep it quite natural.

I have hazel eyes and pink eye shadow looks good (very light pink) with eyeliner.

I do nude eyes and eyeliner these days with loads of mascara. Shadow sinks into the creases and looks crap anyway
