I have been known to inadvertently stray into Mum boot territory so are these nice or not?

Oh fab, thank you. I posted some last year and everyone (well a lot of you) said they were on the verge of Mum bootishness, I bought them anyway and they have been worn to death. These I love, so will buy now

Do it. The heel and shape of the toe make them nowhere near mum boot territory. In fact the toe shape is gorgeous. Which colour?

Brown! I have been hankering after a brown pair since last Autumn, I just couldn't find the perfect pair!
