Alternative to Rimmel Stay Matte primer (discontinued)

I've got the worlds most oily skin . It's really truly awful. Some days I can smell the oil on my face. It makes me feel unclean.

I stayed at my mums a while ago and forgot primer so went rummaging through my sisters make up and found the Rimmel primer. It's perfect for me. My holy grail. Got to near the end of the tube and discovered they don't sell it any more .

Does anyone know of anything similar? I've tried the Fix & Perfect along with many others like Porefessional. I even tried that Nivea Balm.

Really annoying! I loved the Boots No7 primer which was discontinued and started using the Rimmel one. I'm a bit gutted that's been discontinued too .

I've seen good reviews for a Body Shop primer, All in one Instablur £14. But haven't tried it yet.
Like you, I have to have a decent oil absorbing primer to avoid looking like an oil slick by lunchtime!

Oh no! I love the stay matte foundation (better than double wear in my opinion) and would be gutted if it was discontinued

God I hate when things get discontinued.
I've tried benefit that gal primer and the Mac primer they keep my makeup on but I still go super shiney in two hours.
Keeping a eye on this thread for some suggestions

The foundation and the pressed powder are still available but I can't find anywhere that stocks the primer still. Boots have it listed as out of stock for months now .

I've had a shufti at the bodyshop primer and it's got pretty good reviews so I might give that a go or see if I can blag a sample.

The Rimmel one was like a very matte cream and it was perfect sob.

Why companies have to feck around with perfectly good products and constantly change their lines is beyond me.

I've just had the bodyshop instablur primer delivered. Haven't used it yet, but decided to try it for the same reasons - horribly oily skin, and hot weather = not a good look at all.
Got it with a 40% discount code, thankfully because it's a small tube.
Have high hopes for this primer.

Ha ha I was going to do exactly the same; try and blag a free sample of the Instablur from Body Shop. It's quite pricey if it's not right but it does claim to keep you shine free for 12 hours so fingers crossed.

I did try the Boots No 7 pore minimising primer a while ago and it looks great for the first hour or so, but my face is too damn oily for it to have any staying power.It would probably suit less oily complexions.

Some posters have been raving about using Lanacane Anti chafing gel as a primer. It's had mixed reviews but I was put off because it caused some people with spot prone skin to break out. As primers go, it's a cheap alternative so might be worth trying.

This is available on eBay ..bit more expensive than shop price but if it works

Nineties it's such a big gamble spending money on something for it to be crap. I'm a sample girl all the way these days. I tried the Lanacane a while ago. It didn't break me out and I'm very spot prone but it's basically silicone and it did sweet FA for oil control, if anything I think it made me shinier.

It did mattify me for a good few hours (miracle) but it made my skin feel really tight. I haven't bought it yet - I'm going to use up my Lanacane first - but it is pretty cheap so might be worth a shot?

L'oreal Infallible Matte 24h primer is my favourite!

Amazon.co.uk have the Rimmel stay matte primer - think its around 6 quid but not sure about postage

Just checked again and its in stock on amazon for 5.99 plus 1.50 postage . Think theres options to buy 2 combined etc which may be cheaper

I am gutted that this is discontinued. Have Rimmel replaced it with a similar product? I like their fix and perfect primer but it wouldn't handle my super oily nose (from wearing glasses constantly I think). Has anyone tried the lasting finish primer (red lid)?

If i can afford it I might try the Smashbox primer water. Will try the L'Oreal one above (thank you) when my stay matte runs out.

Smashbox one doesn't do much to mattify my oily skin. Worth getting a free sample if you can.

I've got the bodyshop one and its fab, you have to warm it up with your fingers first though.
If you sign up to their emails they send 40% deals all the time and can use in store. That's how I bought mine

I bought The Body Shop primer when it was in a gift set with the All in One BB cream a couple of years ago; I wasn't overly keen on the primer...

My go to mattifying and pore minimising primer is Benefit Porefessional, it may be expensive but a little goes a long way!

Another oily skin here! Have you tried the Bourjois matte primer?
