Too casual for a wedding?

Family wedding at the end of the month. I'm broke. And also fat.

Picked this up in the sale:

It actually gives me a bit of shape at it goes in at my narrowest part. But as it's linen I'm wondering if it too casual for a wedding (was planning on digging around what I have at home to find something bright to team it with)

I'm too broke to be buying much else, so if it's a no for this, I'll probably end up wearing something I already have, like the purple dress I've added a pic of also. (Although purple dress was for an October wedding and I think might be too heavy/wintry)

Oh, and I'm not close family, if that makes a difference. My role is closer to friendly but slightly frumpy aunt-type (although I'm not an aunt). So I won't be in loads of pictures, if that makes a difference.

Hurray! I think because it was grouped with dresses I would wear out to lunch with friends that I had a bit of a wobble. I had actually tried it on as an option for wearing to work but when I tried it on it looked really nice and I though my I could wear it to the wedding instead!

The next question is, what colour accessories!
