Ears now react to all earrings?

For many years could pretty much wear any earrings, but last few years all earrings set off soreness, swelling and yukiness.... anyone else experienced this and found something they can wear?

Daft question, but have you tried surgical steel earrings? If you have and you still get a reaction you could see if the plastic ones with no metal work, another metal option is titanium, apparently this is also good for people with metal allergies. (I don't wear earrings myself, but my wrists are very sensitive to nickel, though that's solved with a coat of clear nail polish on the offending object. Don't think that would work here.)

Agree with Sapphire re surgical steel. I also found 18-24 carat gold, and platinum were ok for me, but surgical steel is much more affordable.

I had this, and unfortunately never found anything my ears would accept. I had so many pairs of earrings, they were my "thing", and I think one cheap pair too many did for me :(

Even gold irritated them in the end and tbh if it hasn't I would have been pretty limited style-wise. I haven't worn earrings for nearly 10 years.

Yep. Started about 20 years ago, any earrings (including gold) would set my eczema off. Haven't even tried any for over 10 years now. I do have a couple of silver earcuffs, they don't cause any reaction.

I react to everything except surgical steel which is what they make the ones they pierce with out of.
You can get pretty ones and they stay on better than others!

I haven't been able to wear earrings for more than 20 years. They went from very unfussy to "ARRRRGGGGGGG ," over anything in them at all, ever, thank you very much.

I've tried from time to time based on suggestions, but nope. They want to be unadorned.

I've given up.

I'm similar, and even "surgical steel" (the name doesn't actually mean anything if it isn't implant-grade) sets me off. I'm fine with titanium, though. Try buying some earrings from somewhere like Serenity, or pop into a piercing shop and ask what they have.
