Does anyone actually like these?? They are all over my Pinterest feed, for some unfathomable reason.

They are horrendous!

For some reason, long nails make me slightly anxious in any case, so it's a no from me. I blame it on a science teacher who once took swabs from under our nails and then grew all sorts of nasties from them.

VioletBam · 14/07/2016 05:08

What's the coffin reference? Is it the shape of the nails? The pattern is horrendous! They're like drag queen nails! Fabulous on a man in a dress but awful on a woman.

KoalaDownUnder · 14/07/2016 05:12

Yes, the 'coffin' refers to the shape. They are tapered on an angle, with a squared-off tip. So that they resemble the top part of a coffin.

(And yes, the glitter on those ones just ups the hideousness!)

it's sooo sooo sooo artificial looking. not fan sorry.

KoalaDownUnder · 14/07/2016 05:44

Don't be sorry - I'm not a fan, either! Grin

I don't like them...and they look like they'd make everything really awkward!

TheGirlOnTheLanding · 14/07/2016 06:01

Not a fan either.

The worst for me though are the long nails filed to a point. Those make me feel quite ill, for some reason.

branofthemist · 14/07/2016 06:37

I don't wear extensions. However, in the uk, they are usually referee to as 'ballet pump' or something rather that 'coffin'.

The photo attached is quite a bad set tbh. The end should be slimmer as should the whole nail. They are quite bulky. My aunt is a beautician and does fantastic nail extensions and tells me all this stuff.

As extensions go, I don't mind them that much.

I am in Oz and have never seen them
'in the wild' - I'd assume 'coffin nails' is the American term, then?

Anyway, they're scary.

They look like something a porn star would wear.
I would be concerned how they wiped their bottom.

Lottapianos · 14/07/2016 12:28

I love them - to look at. No idea how anyone would actually accomplish any daily tasks whatsoever while wearing them

Fluffycloudland77 · 14/07/2016 20:08

They can also be called "ballerina" nails.

There will be a market for them Wink

Iloveangel · 14/07/2016 21:49

The only time I have heard of the term 'coffin nail' is when someone is about to have a cigarette.....
As in another nail in that coffin that these cigarettes are going to put me in.....sorry..... No help at all...,

Doinmummy · 14/07/2016 21:52

DD has them 'coffin' shape or 'squoval' Confused , we're in the uk

itsbetterthanabox · 15/07/2016 16:43

I quite like them. But not that nail art or that long. I like this sort of thing,

itsbetterthanabox · 15/07/2016 16:44

Didn't post this pic!

Savagebeauty Exactly!

My main argument against painting my nails colours is that not only I am too lazy and clumsy but I hate that I can't see the dirt.
