Avoiding white deodorant marks on dresses when pulling on..

Yes, not exactly a hot topic for S&B but have a tube-effect dress (Boden ruched dress) very stretchy and pulls on over your head. No matter how I try to wriggle in to it, I end up with white slashes of deodorant on the dress. I'm even thinking of using the deodorant afterwards by pulling up the sleeves somehow. so far, I've not worn it because every time I try to it gets covered in marks. I'm using a stick deodorant which is advertised as 'no white marks'.

Roll ons are usually better at not leaving marks, as long as you leave them to dry first. Otherwise try using it after my going down the neckline?!

I find rubbing with a damp towel gets deodorant marks off. I use a stick one too.

Get one that leaves no white marks. All the big brands do them, I use the Dove one.

Might be applying more deodorant than you need.
Leave plenty of time for it to dry, while you are doing other things to get ready.

If I'm going out I tend to put deodorant on and then put a t shirt on first while I'm faffing about before I put on my going out clothes so hopefully if any deodorant is going to come off it goes on the t shirt and not my outfit.

as above: roll on and let it dry properly before putting on.

Use tripledry the night before, it is brilliant.

I wear ruched dresses all the time. My trick is to turn the bottom bit inside out (about 20cm worth) before putting it on - any marks will then be on the inside!

I have the boden ruched top and the exact problem!! Been putting Sure on afterwards to resolve.

Nivea Black and White roll on is good. It only costs a quid so you could keep one just for when you're wearing that dress.

Dove invisible roll on is good too. No marks on my clothes since I started using it.

hairdryer on pits

Quite a few brands claim to leave no white marks. Switch to another brand.

YY hairdryer on pits and blot with tissue.

I turn the bottom 6" or so of teeshirts/sweaters/dresses inside out (roll or fold up) which stops the marks' and use 'no marks' aerosol deodorant (roll on or stick ones still mark). I always use talc too so by rolling up the bottom you avoid talc marks too.

I do let it dry well- in fact I'd worn other clothes before putting the dress on.
I agree that you can sometimes just wipe the marks off with a towel etc but it's a bit of a faff.

Depending on the neckline - put dress on first then reach inside to put on deodorant.

When wearing a dress like that, I put moisturiser, make-up, deodorant and anything else on after I've put the dress/top on, otherwise it ends up covered. It's the only way. I find the 'no white marks' deodorants still leave white marks (or worse - yellow). It's a pain.

Mitchum is meant to work for 48 hours so you could in theory put it on the night before but I've never tried it.

Yep, same as some PPs, I always fold the bottom half of jumpers / tops / dresses up to the armpits, put them on and then roll the bottom down. Then if any deodorant transfers it's on the inside once the bottom half is rolled back down.

Call me crazy, but a friend recommended a crystal stick. She sweats like a beast, and has tried it for work (she's a nurse), and at the gym. No white marks, no stickiness and no perfume or chemicals. She says that it protected her all day long.

I've tried one for the first time today. I sweat just as profusely. Absolutely no BO. It's a miracle. I'm a big fan of the crystal stick deodorants (e.g. Pit Rok). At first I only used it in winter, as I couldn't quite believe it would work. But I've used it throughout summer this year, and even on nights out - and it works brilliantly. You rub it over wet armpits when you are straight out of the shower. I do give them a really good going over - just to be sure! There's no residue and it never marks clothing. Also lasts for absolutely ages - so very economical (unless you drop it and it smashes).

That's a great tip, to turn the bottom inside-out!

I have a black teeshirt that always seems to end up with white stripes up the sides, no matter how carefully I put it on.
