Please help me with my awful feet...

I've always had hardish skin on the soles of my feet. I used to use a pumice type foot file, but it seemed to exacerbate things, so in recent years I've left them. However, my heels are now quite cracked, to the point that my DCs and their friends have commented several times.

Any tips on how to remove this, preferably on a budget?

Thanks.

Once they have properly cracked, I think you need to see a chiropodist. I tried loads (footner, Newton's sponge, soap and glory file, flexitol) of things when mine got like that and the only thing that sorted me out was the chiropodist. The DIY stuff was all too little too late! Footner is about £15 and my appointment was on £25... it was well worth it. Now I use my stuff to keep on top of it.

Amazon sell microplane foot files (a bit like fine cheese graters!) which are wonderful at getting rid of hard skin. Read the reviews! Also Compeed cracked heel cream really good at keeping heels soft after they've been filed - but you need to keep it up because they soon return to being hard/cracked if you don't!
