Wedge trainers- ok or naff?

I am trying to find some comfy heels to wear casually with bootcut jeans. I normally wear converse but want a few inches of height. I was thinking of Ash wedge trainers but I know they've been around for a while and was wondering if they're a bit naff. And if not are they comfy? And if they are csn you think of anything else I could wear?

Simply heinous.

apatheticfallacy · 06/07/2016 20:34

I didn't know that's what they're called but I can't think of many shoes in less likely to wear personally. Even crocs would be better.

Wedges do tend to be more comfortable? What about wedge sandals?

StressedOutB2B · 06/07/2016 20:34

Naff!

Haggisfish · 06/07/2016 20:35

Awful!

EasternDailyStress · 06/07/2016 20:37

Revolting

The McQueen/puma collaboration wedge trainers are amazing. I also have a vast collection of Y3. They are comfortable, and very sexy.
Have a look!

Pixilicious · 06/07/2016 20:39

I think that answers that then! Thanks for the Puma/McQueen recommendation, I'll have a look.

Oh no! I've been happily wearing mine thinking they were quite cool Blush

dangerrabbit · 06/07/2016 20:42

I had a nice black pair from French connection which I bought about 5 years ago and wore into the ground but not seen anything similari in the shops recently.

Buttwing · 06/07/2016 20:45

Hmm they are a bit old hat now but that said I have a pair of Isabel marant ones that I still wear sometimes.

Marmalade85 · 06/07/2016 20:51

Naff

NataliaOsipova · 06/07/2016 20:53

These sound brilliant - where can I get some? Seriously! (Caveat - I quite old and not cool!)

MitzyLeFrouf · 06/07/2016 21:10

They are a bit Jedward. Having said that my friend wears some Ash wedge trainers and it suits her look.

FankEweVeryMuch · 06/07/2016 21:30

Just no they are not and never were OK.

TheNotoriousPMT · 06/07/2016 21:34

They are brilliant if you are a Spice Girl circa 1998.

TheNotoriousPMT · 06/07/2016 21:36

Full disclosure: I asked about some thick-soled trainer things on here a while back and got my arse handed to me Blush

Onlytimewilltell · 06/07/2016 21:55

Nike air max have a lot of height to them without being too wedgy! I'm a size 5 and can still get away with kids ones as they have more colour choice.

VeraVioletVinn · 07/07/2016 11:17

I actually think it depends on the style.
I don't like this sort of thing, but do like these converse, which wouldn't look too obviously like a wedge I don't think, especially if under jeans, and would give you the bit of height you are after.

NataliaOsipova · 07/07/2016 18:42

Looking up these Nike air wedges right now......!

IHaveBrilloHair · 07/07/2016 18:44

I am desperate for the Ash ones, I have the flat pair but they are falling to bits.

NataliaOsipova · 07/07/2016 18:47

Hmmm. Not do sure now. I was thinking they'd look like normal ones but with wedge heels. Think I'm a bit past it for anything "street". Ho hum.

IHaveBrilloHair · 07/07/2016 18:48

NataliaOsipova · 07/07/2016 21:28

Hmmm. Not quite it either. Still a bit too cool for me, sadly. But thanks for the pic Brillo!

burnishedsilver · 07/07/2016 21:33

I have that last pair. I still wear them from time to time but they're not that comfortable.

Whatthequack · 07/07/2016 23:09

I have these and I love them. I usually wear them with black skinny jeans.
