Why do women insist on dyeing their hair, in particular dyeing their hair awful awful colours...?

I guess it's down to personal preference.
We all like different things
If dying your hair makes you happy then why not I say.

MarklahMarklah · 05/07/2016 12:38

Rather a subjective topic isn't it?
Why shouldn't women dye their hair whatever colour they like?
For that matter, why shouldn't men dye their hair any colour they want to too?

alltouchedout · 05/07/2016 12:41

Because it's their hair and they can do whatever the hell they like with it without having to consult you?

notamummy10 · 05/07/2016 12:43

Dying your hair 'awful, awful colours' isn't just limited to women you know, men can dye their hair too. Hmm

But it's their hair and their decision to do so!

EvansAndThePrince · 05/07/2016 13:21

What's an "awful awful colour"? And I've seen men with lots of different colours of hair too, why is it only women that anger ou so?

Ianmac1946 · 05/07/2016 14:36

EvansAndThePrince what makes you think i'm angry...lol...i'm just asking a civil question.. :)

As for it being their decision i'm all for that and yes i've seen some men dye their hair not many but...is it a vanity thing...if so it doesnt work for me at any rate...its just denying the ageing thing....and if thats the case some of the choices made by especially ladies of a certain age are ridiculous imho... :)

Dyed hair looks fantastic on women of ANY age... IMHO. Smile

Which colours don't you like OP? I highlight my hair, mainly because I think it suits me but partly because I like to blend the greys in!

mogloveseggs · 05/07/2016 15:01

Well my dh likes it. The kids like it. Most importantly I like it. So there!

MarklahMarklah · 05/07/2016 21:40

I wasn't allowed to dye my hair when I was a teen and living at home. I've been making up for it ever since. Nothing to do with denying ageing, but to do with liking the option of having my hair any colour I want.

Youvegottobekidding · 05/07/2016 23:34

I colour my hair a mid brown shade because I prefer it to my natural light auburn colour, I actually think it suits me much more & I like it so that's why I do it!

BurningBriquette · 06/07/2016 08:24

Because I can. Because I have free will. Because I like it.

Full stop.
