Arrgghh, dd and bras

Have posted before about my 15 year old dd and bras. Basically she has developed my curvy figure but refuses to wear proper support. She is also VERY fussy about her bras making it difficult or impossible to find some that she's happy with.

She had been wearing these for the past few years:

www.johnlewis.com/john-lewis-dd-plus-non-wired-t-shirt-bra/p1429176?colour=Black

In white and nude. However she had been wearing a D or DD cup which I know is far too small for her.

Her criteria were - not underwired, very plain, no lace etc, only white or nude. She won't be measured in a shop, she did measure her back size a few months ago which was a 30 and I'm guessing she needs around an F cup.

I recently bought loads of different bras from Debenhams online (including the same style she had in a bigger cup size) and left them for her to try. She said none of them were any good with the exception of one which she said was 'too big'. I find this very hard to believe looking at the volume of the cup.

She has now added 'no padding' to the criteria so that rules out the one I linked to above Hmm

She did mention a year or two ago about minimiser bras but from what I can see online they are all underwired. But I'm sure if they were properly fitted she would find them comfortable.

Any advice please? Her friends don't seem to be particularly flat chested so it's not like she's the only one....but she dances a lot so I suppose she sees a bigger bust not being ideal.

We could get to Selfridges, could treat her to a day in London.

statistically do you think the dance bras (crop top style) like the no-bounce one will give the same level of support as a cup sized bra? Dd might go for something like that but ideally I would still like her to be fitted.

If Debenhams is hit and miss I should probably avoid it.

Shock absorbers are ridiculously small in the band, almost everyone goes up a band (and down a cup) to compensate.

I've not tried those specific ones so I couldn't say for sure Dancergirl. The problem with those is that chances are if she's an F now she's going to get bigger and even if they are OK just now at some point they won't be. But, in general I've found that crop top styles aren't great as they basically wedge everything together - I don't get on with Shock absorbers for the same reason - and if you're busty that just leads to really unpleasant sweatiness! They might offer her enough support just now but it's hard to say.

I'd be tempted to at least try the Selfridges route and make it a bit of a girly treat. You know enough about fitting that you'll spot a plus 4 fitter a mile away (in which case run!)

If you can get to Oxford Street, then I'd definitely make an appt to see a fitter in John Lewis. They have a big range (better & more affordable in general than Selfridges IMHO). There's also Rigby & Peller around the corner from Oxford Circus.

I think JL probably are better - but Selfridges might be a bit 'cooler'. If it's Oxford Circus then if she miraculaously "gets it" with a JL or Selfridges fitting there's a Bravissimo close by too - I want to say Margaret Street but I'm not local so I may be inventing street names!

I love the Rigby and Pellar that's just off Oxford Street. But if you are thinking of going there it's worth phoning in advance and making an appointment.
