Any ideas for birthday present for sil

I am looking to get a birthday present for my sil. She likes a bit of glamour. It's a big birthday so it would be good if it were long lasting. Spend would be £500 to £1000. I was thinking if the LV Neverfull in Epi leather but dsil got me an awesome evening bag for my 40th so I don't want it to be too dull. All ideas welcome, it doesn't have to be a bag (feels a bit samey since she got me one) but i would like it to be memorable and long lasting. It just occurred to me that I could get jewelry though that's quite a brave choice.GrinThank you!

Mulberry lily or Bayswater would be £500-£650 from an outlet store, iconic and slightly 'classier' than LV's obvious monogram? The sale is also on the moment on their website.

Or a pair of louboutins/Manolos?

janethegirl2 · 03/07/2016 21:38

Nice earrings?

mrsclooneytoyou · 03/07/2016 21:41

Dyson hairdryer
Piece of jewellery
Watch
Shoes

janethegirl2 · 03/07/2016 21:45

Shoes, you need to get the size right.

I'm not big on bags, but a nice bit of jewellery works for me. Not too blingy though, just nice and subtle.

How many hair driers does a girl need?

Longislandicetee · 03/07/2016 21:50

The lily has gone on the list and the Manolos. Flowers She's a Louboutin kind of girl but I actually like her so I am not sure i want to inflict that kind of pain on herGrin

I like the idea of earrings. Any thoughts on what? I would hate to get her something she wouldn't wear. Jane tapping into my fears there!

The Dyson hairdryer?! haven't heard of it. off to check it out!

Thank you everyone!Smile

Oh god, don't get her Loubs - you know how I feel about them. Choos much better. Rockstuds? Or too bling?

Other suggestions to add to my previous list:

Hermes bracelet
McQueen De Manta clutch
Or you could get a neverfull with the personalisation and stripes? That is on my list.

A bench...? Wink Grin

QueenC1 · 03/07/2016 22:27

Not earrings as they can't be exchanged if she really hates them

Longislandicetee · 04/07/2016 09:10

Good point about the earrings QueenC.

I showed dh all the pins and ideas and he likes the idea of Hermes bracelet or the shoes. So just off to look at the bracelet. I get the feeling the one he likes isnt done in the UK anymore. I want the mini clic clac for myself but think she might like the big one. Anyone think that's memorable?

quite liked the bone cuff but he looked horrified. Dh more classic than me.Grin

I admit to snorting on the bench post.Grin

What about a nice piece of art?

Jenda · 04/07/2016 13:36

Do you or your DH have any other siblings you need marrying? I'll take either gender for gifts like that Grin

maradesbois · 04/07/2016 13:44

Blingy, you can't go wrong with an orange box imho Grin. Also hermès has 3 month exchange policy valid at any store. Bracelet is definitely memorable. I love the patterned enamel ones but make sure you get the right diameter, think they come in just 2 sizes whereas the leather ones have more variants. Another possibility is a shawl/wrap. The prints are beautiful but I have a libris one that has a pattern in same tone so more subtle and easier to wear.

I just want it on record that for my last (big) birthday, my SIL brought me a slow cooker recipe book from B and M.

Longislandicetee · 04/07/2016 14:44

I have clocked Art as a possible future present. Don't think I will get it for sil now (let's just say I have left it all a bit late!) but, it's a great idea for my best friend, for whom I try and get different things. Thanks for the idea!

Love the Dyson hairdryer idea too, have put that on gift list for Christmas for my dsis.

Shawl...love that idea, think I will pick some and show dh tonight. Don't know why I didn't do a thread like this ages ago!

Fell and Jenda GrinGrin sorry the sibs are all married! What's B and M?Blush
