Straw poll, chop very long hair or not?

I'm undecided. I do like my hair when it's done but it takes so long. Here's pics of it now, and what I'd like to cut it to.

I think your hair is gorgeous as it is, I'm quite jealous!

I thought this thread would help me decide...Grin

It is nice when it's done but I don't do it very often. 90% of the time it's in a bun or braid.

The question is, would I be arsed doing it if it was shorter? Probably not.

The thing is, your alternative hairstyle is still pretty long hair.

I used to have super long hair, similar to your first pic, but a lot straighter. I never did a thing with it apart from plait it, or put it in a messy bun or ponytail. So I chopped the lot off to this kind of style and now have hair that looks like I can be arsed to have hair IYSWIM:

Both pics of your own hair have it styled in a kind of cow-lick away from your forehead. Unless this is the only way your hair will lie, I think it can look a bit dated/Kate Middleton-ish. The third pic is styled more forwards and flatter at the front which instantly makes it look more modern. Perhaps try styling your own hair like that to see how it feels, it might make your hair look a bit fresher without needing to lose the length.

I love your long hair though and wish mine could look like that!

I don't think the OP ever said she wanted short hair, did she?

cut it. your hair is lovely but the current cut is on the boring side.

your alternative cut isn't really that much shorter anyways.

and if you really don't like it - it's only hair and it will grow again. you are not going for a pixie or something radical. just a few inches off. do it.Smile

I'd go for the chop. Looks much more modern, your hair will look thicker, and what's the point in having it so long if you just just tie it up all the time anyway. G'wan!!! Wink

I think your hair is beautiful, but it would actually be useful to see your face to see if you go with the hair iyswim. I understand why you'd be reluctant though Grin

I have to say though, I do like the style you had your eye on. It's still long, so wouldn't be a massive shock, but I do love that long, wavy, layered look you've got now.
