What to wear with navy dress

I've bought a navy dress for a wedding I'm going to soon and I'm trying to work out what colour shoes and jacket I should wear with it.
Would it look better with a matching navy jacket and shoes or should I go for black?
I'm useless with this sort of thing

I wore gold shoes with a navy dress. Or maybe a red or coral to brighten it up? All navy seems a bit worky for a wedding ( depending what it's like) and there are many who will say navy and back should never be seen together.

I wouldn't go with navy or black shoes. It'll look too somber. I really like a bright splash of colour with navy. Orange, coral or fuschia.

Bright shoes, pink looks lovely. My friend recently attended a wedding in a navy dress with pink shoes and a huge pink hat. She looked awesome in the pics.

Def bright shoes- coral/orange/fuchsia, powder pink even. Matching clutch bag maybe, or fascinator/hat.
Silver also looks amazing with navy - silver heels or ballet pumps, a silver shawl, hat anything!

Yes something bright - coral, pink, red, yellow look all great with navy.

I've got a pair of taupe(ish) suede ankle boots that go well with a navy (just above knee) dress. Agree coral heels would look really good too especially with a more formal dress.

Oh goodie, I think turquoise is great with navy.

I hadn't even considered other colours! I've got some gold shoes, I'll try them on with it and maybe look around for some brighter options if they don't work.
So, bright shoe and a matching navy shrug so the shoes really pop?

I would say choose a pop of colour like orange, the second outfit here is navy and it's a nice touch of orange in there.

A massive fuck-off orange hat like the Queen wore at Ascot would look awesome.

Otherwise, fuschia shoes would look fab too.

Bright shoes and hat, no shrug at all if poss
