Jerome Russel hair colourant.

I have been colouring my hair with permanent dyes for over 20 years.
I have found some amazing buys in Poundword and home bargains for under £3.
Recently visited Wilkos and purchases a medium brown colour for 99p. Okay so it was cheap.
I've paid £1 from other places and had great results ( reputable brands)
Applied JR colourant and noticed my gloves were perishing.
After 30 minutes I washed the colour out of my hair and not only had it not coloured my hair one bit, it had actually bleached it .
Decided to contact the makers but hey, it was a premium number.
My hair is still grey at the roots, the previous dye has faded and is the consistency of straw.
I went to look on Amazon for reviews and just about everyone had similar results.
My last home dye was £1.99 and was amazing, I promptly went back to bulk buy more but alas was gone.
I wonder if anyone else has had a similar experience?
I know it is too much to expect a 99p home dye to be fantastic but not to wreck my hair .

I'm going to reply to my own message just to spread the word.
Please do not buy their products..they don't work and damage your hair. Calling them to complain costs far more than the product itself.
I'm glad my hair is shortish and will only take a few months to grow out.
I'm not saying the product is poor; I'm saying it really will damage your hair big time. I wish I had looked on Amazon first.

I believe Jerome Russell is a bleach, si that's why your hair has been damaged.

I know most permanent dyes have some bleach in them, but this was sold as a medium brown colour.

They tend to be a mixture of bleach (the accelerant) mixed with a brown/red/yellow colourant. I agree though, it really shouldn't have wrecked your hair.

I bought a home dye once, supposed to be a light blonde, just refreshing my colour... and the wrong bottle was in it. I noticed that the colour in bottle had turned almost black after I'd applied it all and it was too late to wash it off before it left my hair patchy and half brown. Had to get a hairdresser to fix and ended up with dark brown hair as bleach would have damaged even more. Complained and got a free bottle of dye which of course never got used. Assume someone mixed up the bottles in the shop as a prank
