eye makeup colour advice

i have greeny/brown eyes but today they look to be grey/green.

i wear brown, taupe and coppery eyeshadow and i'm bored with it. if i wear eyeliner its always dark brown or black, as is mascara.

i tried a green eyeshadow. i looked ill. i tried grey. i looked dirty and ill. could anyone advise me on what colours i could try that may look ok?

Mine are green
Colours I wear a lot - orange, red, copper, bronze, purple
Favourites are MAC - woodwinked, sumptuous olive, coppering
Makeup geek - flamethrower (this is amazing!), homecoming, taupe notch, Morocco

Purple looks great with green or brown eyes. I like urban decay for eyeliner, they have a great range of shades
