What to wear as a hen?

I'm really against being put in fancy dress for my hen and I'm confident my bridesmaids will not out me in anything hideous, but that means I have to come up with something to wear!

I was thinking a midi skirt and a top , I'm a 12 hour glass with boobs , any ideas , also I'm not flush with cash so nothing too expensive

Where are you going? Some where very different to your usual haunts?

I actually don't know I'd expect a club at some point , but I'm way beyond tight dresses and short skirts

Unless you are going somewhere with a dress code such as the races, or a very formal occasion then you need something that will take you everywhere. If its a day to night thing with limited time to change etc that is another consideration. I would never advocate tight dresses etc! I was thinking skinny jeans/top/clutch/heels takes me everywhere as does a jumpsuit and heels - never felt under or over dressed in bars etc like that. I see no need to dress differently just because its your hen unless you are going to treat yourself to a designer something. I always upgrade my casual jeans led outfit by way of a Rick Owens biker jacket and awesome bag...basic outfit, awesome accessories is my way!

Jeans would be ideal but I have a trapped nerve in my leg and they make me very uncomfortable so can't wear them. It really hurts me in the style stakes cos I'd look better in trousers but I'm in skirts or dresses 24/7 . Just wanted something to stand out a bit.

How about a skater style dress?

I would maybe go full skirt then, make it a real ' look' - Lindybop or Lady V Hepburn with funky accessories to make it a bit Rockabilly
