Eyebrows - does everyone shape them?

Just that really! I don't, and wondered if I was in a minority. They look fine and not overgrown or anything but not very manicured of course. I've never started because don't want to have to maintain them!

I had mine done for the first time a couple of weeks ago and I was a bit disappointed - I was expecting miracles I think but they just looked like my eyebrows after I've plucked them. To be worth it, I think you have to have really unruly ones or have to commit to fancy panting them up with gel and mascara and all that stuff.

Mouthfulofquiz · 29/06/2016 20:26

I don't! Mine are fine as they are. However, as more and more people go the HD Brow route, I am getting more curious to see what I would look like with them, but I expect it would be like the time I finally caved and got acrylic nails... I felt all wrong and couldn't wait to get it off. I prefer myself as I am I think!

Trills · 29/06/2016 20:28

I decided to grow mine out to have a base from which to start shaping them properly.

My intention was to grow them, then go and have them shaped professionally, then maintain the shape myself.

So far I've only done the first step and they just look like eyebrows...

The untidyness comes when you have been plucking them and you get hairs growing that are clearly far away from the main part of the eyebrow. Once it's all grown out, mine look big but not "untidy" because all the hairs are near other hairs.

burnishedsilver · 29/06/2016 20:30

No. Mine are fine. I do get them tinted as the odd grey hair is coming through.

Blueberrycheesecake1 · 29/06/2016 20:33

Interesting to hear I'm not the only one! It's the maintenance aspect that has always put me off...

I get them threaded once a month for 3 pounds. Keeps them neat for a fortnight, after that I just pluck my monobrow and leave the rest until they get threaded again.

It's not really a big deal.

bingisthebest · 29/06/2016 21:00

Please keep them natural. I think hd brows look rubbish.
I have mine threaded every month but always ask for the top to be left to keep them looking natural.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 29/06/2016 21:01

I leave mine alone.

longdiling · 29/06/2016 21:04

I had mine waxed and tinted for the first time a couple of months ago and I definitely saw the difference. They look neater and more defined. I don't like wearing make up and this seems to make me look better without having to do eye make up

FeliciaJollygoodfellow · 29/06/2016 21:13

I pluck mine and trim along the top for shape. I use a pencil and powder thing to draw them in as they are sparse as hell!

I don't actually need to shape them too much, I over plucked to the extreme in the nineties so they don't actually grow that much anymore.

ScarletPower · 29/06/2016 21:13

I'm not high maintenance by any standards, but my brows are so fair and sparse that they look to have disappeared from afar. So I have a tint and tidy once a month and they do look good. I don't think people really notice them, but I do. They do fade quickly though, I could probably have them tinted twice a month but I pencil them in for the last two weeks with a great pencil from Kiko.

Dafadddu · 01/07/2016 14:43

I like the shape mine are but i pluck stray ones above and below. And have them tinted every 2months.

Dafadddu · 01/07/2016 14:44

bingisthebest having a tint and wax is totally different to HD brows.

KingJoffreyLikesJaffaCakes · 01/07/2016 14:45

Don't they naturally mirror the shape of your eyes?

If you change the shape you may end up looking like a Picaso painting.

AgeingArtemis · 01/07/2016 19:22

I pluck the middle bit to stop it trying to become a monobrow (I don't think it would succeed all the way, but it's definitely trying! Grin)

Apart from that I leave them because I like the shape they have naturally.

lovelybangers · 01/07/2016 20:09

I don't do much to mine.

But I have been having them tinted once every 3 or 4 weeks as mine are quite fair.

It makes a big difference - I don't wear make up much- but with decent brows there is some point of focus to my face.

Only costs me £4 too.

SpaghettiMeatballs · 01/07/2016 20:12

I have mine waxed and tinted brown every 4 weeks. Mine are naturally blonde so I look like I don't have any if I don't get them dyed.

I much prefer them how the beautician does them to how they'd be otherwise.

MurphysChild · 01/07/2016 20:15

Very, very low maintenance here but I do gave mine threaded every two months. I have fine fair hair so they don't need often. DD gas string dark brows and hers get done monthly and look amazing. I also tint mine myself before threading. They look nice and neat.

SuperFlyHigh · 01/07/2016 20:17

No. When I can be bothered they're threaded. I'm lucky in that I have a good shape. I used to get them plucked and then tweeze them routinely in my 20s a long time ago

ShellSuitonBonfireNight · 02/07/2016 23:28

So I don't have mine shaped at all. I think they were done once when I did some hair modelling. I've always been worried once I started I'd have to keep it up and I'm very lazy.

However I do use an eyebrow pencil on them. I just kind of follow my natural shape but I'm quite fair so they don't look slug-like or owt.

ShowOfHands · 02/07/2016 23:32

I've never done a thing to them. No plucking. No threading. Nothing.
