Elizabeth Arden flawless finish compact. I've been using it 20 years. They've a new version out that's half the size and 3 times the price the bastards. Any recommendations? I'll pay for an expensive brand if it's worth it. Tia Smile

I am not sure what skin type you have. I have a combination skin, and use YSL Fusion Ink. This is a sheer, easily blended liquid foundation that can be layered where you want more coverage . Lasts well and looks natural. Best foundation I have used and have tried many .

Tropics have a lovely powder foundation thing

Feckinlego · 27/06/2016 20:38

Thank you gonegrey. I have normal skin, with an occasional monthly breakout. Will look into that ysl one.

Estee lauder double wear, too faced born this way, clinique chubby in the nude (for medium coverage) or loreal infallible ultra matte.

CoolToned · 27/06/2016 20:44

I feel you. My favourite The Face Shop CC cream has been discontinued. :(

What type of finish do you like? Matte? Dewy? How about skin-type? And age? Mature skin probably would benefit from something light, younger can go really heavy and matte.

I hate Estée Lauder for this kind of thing. They did it with another of their best sellers (max cover foundation in ivory) . There are 100s of reviews and comments on forums asking for it to be reinstated- but no.
Anyhow, on the flawless finish compact I have seen this at two budget outlets, one a market stall and one a TOFS (the original factory store) if you have one locally . Colors were not the palest shades though. What shade did you need?

Also worth noting- a consultant on an Estée Lauder counter told me they have a factory outlet. It's somewhere quite Northern as far as I remember. Good discounts.

Thank you everyone. I'm 42 with normal skin. I like fairly light foundation. I loved the handiness of the ea compact. I've tried many other compacts over the years but they last about a week! Might try Estée Lauder daily wear, think they do a light one. Also saw a pan stick type thing, think it was MAC. That would be so handy but I'd be afraid it would be like the max factor one of the 80s - not a good look!

Bobbi Brown does some great cream foundation compacts. I also really like her Skin Foundation Stick which is absolutely nothing like the pan stick foundation of the 80s. It's natural, lightweight, non greasy and stays very well for a stick foundation. I always take it when I travel as its so portable and easy to apply.

violetbunny · 28/06/2016 08:55

Malermalergoni - the Estée Lauder outlet is called Cosmetics Company Outlet and is an outlet for Lauder-owned brands (including Clinique, MAC and Bobbi Brown). There used to be one in Bicester Village, I haven't visited in a couple of years but I presume it's still there.

PinkyPlumet · 28/06/2016 09:01

I think fragrance direct still sell it, stock up!

Only1scoop · 28/06/2016 09:05

Op check out your local TK maxx my mum still Manages to find her toasty beige compact in there.
