Wide leg trousers - what footwear?

I've just bought some wide leg pin-striped blue and cream linen trousers but am lost as to what shoes to wear with them. Any suggestions please?

How about some white plimsolls?

Flat or low heel pointed toes? Something like this.

The wide legs need heavier footwear to balance and ground them e.g. Thicker sole,wider straps,blocky heel,wider toe.

What's the length like? Do they show any ankle?

Thanks all - no ankle showing. I've tried white Birkenstock and they seem to work - may also look at heavier shoe as well. Like those red ones Diane as well
