Special your 'But at least a flowery scarf doesn't make you look like a badger going to an eighties disco'' has just made my splutter my water over my phone screen. Luckily it wasn't much & phone is still working.

My mums just reminded me that I also wore orange eyeshadow and purple lipstick oh how thankful am I that the Nokia 5110 didn't have a camera!!

I liked silver eyeliner and black lipstick when I was a teen. And silver and blue mascara. But I was a wuss I didn't wear them outside the house.

In the 80s I used to wear vertical stripes of yellow, orange, lime green and blue eyeshadow - all unblended - with bubblegum pink lipstick. Must have looked a proper twonk.

The worst contouring I've ever seen was on an air hostess. It looked so so odd, like her face was painted on.

That red eyeshadow looks amazing Frustrated but on my green eyes, i'd just look like a demon!

"Misusing" sounds like they are sniffing glue :o

Betty - I have green eyes and wear red eyeshadow (plus copper or orange) a lot and it looks amazing, makes green eyes really stand out
If you're not sure, MAC have two that are slightly toned down, woodwinked and coppering which both look great

Thanks for the tips hollinhurst84, i'll definitely check them out. I'm intrigued! I do tend to wear coppery shades so in theory it should work. My secret weapon is Bad Girl Bronze by Rimmel. As a teen I tried RED red and it just made me look like a vampire. Think it's a fine line between ethereal and 'The Undead'!!

My period id like to forget involved me blushing an awful lot (was so self conscious), So to counteract the redness I wore body shop cake foundation in a few shades paler, practically looked like a geisha.
