Best white skinny jeans, oh and will I look mutton?

I'm 46 and been hankering after white skinny jeans for a while. I've lost 3 stone over the last year so am now a size 8-10 and 5ft 7.

Can they look awful though? My legs are a decent shape I think as I run.

P'interest is good for looking at outfits but the women there are all youthful and glamorous. I am not.

Can anyone recommend a brand? Should I go ankle grazers? I'd wear with flip flops, converse or I have some strappy tan heels for glamming up.

Help!

50 here, fairly slim and 5' 9". Was told by DD (16) recently that I shouldn't even consider white jeans! But I quite fancy them!

TroubleinDaFamily · 04/07/2016 15:37

Bagel all the more reason to do it. IMO Grin

GrinGrin so true!

In fact, have just been looking at Sainsbury's Tu white jeans as I have their straight legged indigo and black already and really like the fit/length. Bargain at £14!

Bagel - if I let my teen DDs dictate what I wore I'd be in leggings, or spray-on high-waisted shorts, and a crop top. Grin

She despairs of me as I'm always in jeans and T-shirts or fairly plain tops. Don't really do "girly" and don't really need to dress up or be formal. That, coupled with not even liking shopping, means I don't have many fancy/smart things. Not that it actually bothers me! It's true that the older I get, the less I care about others opinions Grin

I have the Boden straight leg jeans in both white and very pale cream. They're almost skinny, but a bit wider at the bottom. They come in several lengths, which is helpful if you're tall and don't want a cropped look (I don't wear cropped trousers).

I wash mine with biological powder and a sachet of Glowhite.

I think white jeans are very much Liz Hurley territory & as she's older than me & stuck in a style rut I wouldn't use her as a reference point. Yesterday I was out in a prosperous small town & the only women in white jeans were in the late 40s-late 50s bracket.

Fozzleyplum · 05/07/2016 12:07

IMO they are Liz Hurley if too tight and/or worn with anything other than a plain top. I wear mine with a navy long sleeve t shirt, a plain silk shirt or a navy or grey cashmere jumper and unshowy shoes. But some people might like the Liz Hurley look......
