Am about to buy a new mascara. Am currently using Soap and Glory one in silver tube - it's ok but not very dramatic. One before that was Benefit - can't remember why I didn't repurchase it so I can't have liked it much. One before that was Manga something or other - binned that because I didn't like the thin, curved brush.
I want big, dramatic eyelashes and I prefer a thick brush (I'm sure it's called a wand but I'm not convinced that sounds right!)

Would anyone be kind enough to recommend their favourite mascara? If it gives me amazing eyelashes budget is upto £30 ish.

I love Stay Perfect no7, but my mascara always ends up half way down my face and so I need a tubular one. This one is the first one I've ever used which let's me wear mascara and not constantly correct it.

BringMeTea · 25/06/2016 22:43

Second No7 tube mascara. As good as Estee Lauder DW and Kanebo.

Trumpton · 25/06/2016 22:47

Third No 7 stay perfect for staying power but might not be dramatic enough .

I have 3 faves

Benefit roller lash - it REALLY plumps your lashes up and manages to get every single bottom lash too. Its doesnt clump, the liquid stays runny. I honestly cant fault it in any way.

Benefit they're real! tinted primer mascara. It leaves your lashes feel nourished and smooth. Its a mink brown shade and looks so natural when on, it just plumps your lashes up. Its good for your lashes and gives a beautiful every day look.

Younique 3d moodstruck fiber lash. I only wear this on nights out as its very very dramatic. It adds fake little natural lashes to your own, extending them. Imagine thick and full fake lashes. Only set back with this is it can clump so you cant slap dash.

trinitybleu · 25/06/2016 23:11

Younique 3d fibre plus mascara ... every day for me :-)

Max Factor Masterpiece is the best mascara I've ever used (apart from Lancôme Defincils which I can't really justify buying every three months anymore). I used to buy the popular Benefit one up until recently, but it always dried out very quickly and although good, Max Factor is MUCH better - which I started using through a mumsnet recommendation. It really is good.

I have 2 favourites maybelline rocket mascara and Mac zoom lash! The Mac one looks like false lashes on me I love it!!

BubsAndMoo · 25/06/2016 23:19

Chanel le volume. Fantastic. Lots of colours too.

suze28 · 25/06/2016 23:25

My new favourite is Eyeko Black Magic which you can get from M&S for around £18. I also love Pur Vixen and Clinique High Lengths which looks like a curved comb.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 25/06/2016 23:33

No 7 intense volume

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 25/06/2016 23:48

There was a magazine ( I think In Style) that has a freebie Eyeko (either mascara or browgel or eyeliner depending on which was in the magazine).
I got the Eyeko Black Magic but I haven't used it yet because I have a few mascaras still to use up.

And I got the Boots 17 Doll'd Up that was recommended on S&B (but not used yet)

I've tried a few of the No7 ones (got some mini ones in the Advent calender, bought the gold tubing one, never rebought)

I'm looking for a navy one for summer (not the lairy royal blue ones )

Dungandbother · 26/06/2016 00:33

Eyeko black magic is fab. And very build able. So quick and on or 2nd and 3rd coat before it dries completely to really make them stand out.

I've tried them all and I love this. Been buying it for around 3 years. It never flakes, stays the same all day but is also easy to clean off.

Max factor masterpiece max

www.superdrug.com/B-/B-All-Lengthening-Defining-Volumising-Mascara-Waterproof-Blk/p/492778

Waterproof, easy to get off, easy to layer & gives me bambi lashes.

Properly cruelty free ie not sold in China and tested for that market.

hollyisalovelyname · 26/06/2016 10:07

Chanel Le Volume

Cakescakescakes · 26/06/2016 10:14

The Boots 17 Doll'd up one is a good copy of Roller Lash at a fraction of the price.

missybct · 26/06/2016 10:17

I swear by Telescopic by L'Oreal - been using it for 2 years, costs £10.99. I've tried Benefit and Too Faced, both of which are nearly double the cost of the L'Oreal mascara and neither match up to it.

Depends on your eyelashes really - mine are very long, and I don't get on well with the very thick wands as they make my lashes bulk together - Telescopic is the very fine wand, with barely any bristles that just coats the lash and you drag through.

DurhamDurham · 26/06/2016 10:17

It's got to be Maybelline for me, I've used ones which were much for expensive and they weren't a patch on my beloved XXL Maybelline.

PurpleThursday · 26/06/2016 10:56

I gave up on Benefit - I loved it on but it was hard to get off and left dark smudges.

After trying a few I read reviews on line and tubing ones seemed to be the way to go - I got Bobbi Brown no smudge and it is brilliant! I swim in it - no smudges!!

MeIAm · 26/06/2016 17:50

Like the look of the Yonique 3d one! Have never heard of that brand before, anywhere best to purchase from?

Ooo another question about the Younique one, how hard is it to shift at the end of the day?

OP posts:
Madbengalmum · 26/06/2016 20:24

Lancome hypnose Drama lash

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 26/06/2016 20:25

Rollerlash - absolutely brilliant.

ChrissieLatham · 26/06/2016 23:45

Max factor masterpiece max (comes in deep blue - very wearable)
Also like Lancôme star - now discontinued though but holds lashes really well when curled

MeIAm · 03/07/2016 12:19

Bit the bullet and bought the Younique one. Love the effect it gives! Thank you
