Hunter wellies, do they fit big calves?

I'm a slim and fit person but my calves are always causing me issues because they're big!

I adore Hunter Wellies and would love a pair (actually need them too), in Green.

I just don't know what to do because the ones I tried on are far too small! They won't go round my calves Blush

Any help?

Thank you!

I've got the hunter short ones which neatly avoids my runners calves issue.

My 20 yo hunters have curled up and died. My DD's 2yo hunters have curled up and died.
We both now have muck boots. Reasonable price and so warm and comfy.
Hunters are not what they used to be.

piddleypower · 27/06/2016 15:18

No.

And they are totally overpriced rubbish. Mine lasted four months. Even my Dunlop green flash lasted five years! My Aigles I have now are a million times better for the same price.

Madbengalmum · 27/06/2016 16:32

Yes, forgot to mention muck boots as well as a viable alternative.

minipie · 27/06/2016 16:54

No. I have a pair of hunters and I never wear them because they always get stuck on my calves and it takes me forever to get them on or off.

They have lasted but probably because I never wear them!

Mine a riddled with bicycle tyre repair patches. I refuse to give up on them. And yes slim fitting.

WaitrosePigeon · 27/06/2016 19:34

They are slim fitting so you may struggle.

CallarMorvern · 28/06/2016 10:20

They used to do a wide fitting version, not sure if they do now. I can't get any normal wellies to fit my mahoosive calves, but I can vouch for the quality of Aigle, my walking boots are made by them and are donkey's years old.

CallarMorvern · 28/06/2016 10:20

BTW, how do you pronounce Aigle?

amarmai · 28/06/2016 14:34

My dd's split across the front of the foot after very few wears . Also tight in the calf.
