In need of sports bra help please!

I really need a good high impact sports bra, but can't find any that fit - I'm trying to do the couch to 5k challenge but keep badly hurting my shoulders and think it's due to bad bra fit (currently using a mid impact fairly well fitted bra covered by a mid size sports crop top that I think is too small!)

I reckon according to the bra intervention threads that I might be a 34gg (33.5 underboob 43.5 bent over around boobs) but not sure if this is affected by the fact I'm breastfeeding so boobs are even saggier than usual!

Can anyone make any recommendations please? Desperate to do some more running but terrified of injuring myself again!

I wear a 36gg sports bra - panache ultimate sports bra with underwires. I also have the Freya active underwired bra. Had to go up in the cup with that one to get the central gore to sit right though

AnguaResurgam · 21/06/2016 14:55

I've been very happy with the Panache (36G).

Lots of places online sell the previous colours at considerable discount when they bring the new ones out.

Feelingblue222 · 21/06/2016 15:23

Thanks both, will definitely check out the panache then!

Any thoughts on squidgy bf boobs? Do I go for the gg per the intervention threads or do I need to squish them down further with a lower cup size?

Shock absorber. It sort of compresses everything, so they don't move!

Try boobydoo.co.uk

01335 348015 to speak to a specialist there.

I used this service offered by a company that boobydoo merged with. 'Alicia' could not have been more helpful and knowledgable.

Freya active underwire fan here as well, it's extremely supportive and comfortable, and unlike several other sports bras I've tried actually makes me look like I have two breasts. I wore it while breastfeeding (am still technically breastfeeding but it's only once a day, if that...), don't think it made a particular difference to the cup size, and as far as I remember you really shouldn't wear a too tight in the cup bra when BF as it can put pressure on the ducts and lead to blockages/horror - do not try to "squish them down further"! I did find it was quite tight in the back compared to regular Freya, so you might need to try a few sizes around your usual to get a good fit.

Love my panache non wired sports bras. Got them from Belle Lingerie.

queribus · 21/06/2016 17:08

Another panache fan - I have 34f and it keeps everything rock solid

FeliciaJollygoodfellow · 21/06/2016 20:34

Get an Elomi sports bra. I have one in 34H and it is so comfy and supportive, if not very attractive! I would say however that breastfeeding you will feel the impact more in your breasts no matter how solid they are.

Here. I completed couch to 5k in mine so I know it's good! Grin

I've always gone up a size around in sports bras, you can always clip tighter if you need it (but I never have). Love panache, didn't like shock absorber. Lidl have some good stuff in at the mo if you don't want to spend too much. And I have never managed one of those tops with bra thingy in!

DianaT1969 · 17/08/2016 23:07

Panache non wired best I've found.

Fingerbobs · 18/08/2016 06:41

I still have my trusty Enell (also from boobydoo) from nearly 10 years ago. Absolutely nothing moves, it's amazing.

Tote · 18/08/2016 06:56

Shock Absorber. I'm normally a 30F, but needed a 32E. This is normal for Shock Absorber I was told. Great fit - nothing moves!

youlittlecharmer · 18/08/2016 13:58

another +1 for shock absorber. I'm a 32E and wear a 32D/DD in their max impact bra. Have a look on ebay for v cheap ex display, I get them new with tags for less than a fiver.

Sportygirl123 · 18/08/2016 14:02

Definitely get a Panache sports bra. You can buy it online or pop over to a Bravissimo (if you have a local branch). I have struggled with sports bras for years and normally have to wear two at the same time until I bought a Panache sports bra. I am a similar size to you (32G) so would highly recommend it.

PopFizz · 18/08/2016 14:05

Shock absorber ultimate run bra. Go up one in the band, and down one in the cup (so I'm a 34e and wear a 36dd). They are fab, and racer back but easy to put on yourself. Love mine.

EvilTwins · 18/08/2016 14:09

Panache is the best I've ever had. I wear a 34FF and nothing moves. You can make them into racer back but I prefer if with the straps normal. No slippage or bouncing ever. I got mine in bravissimo.

BobbinThreadbare123 · 18/08/2016 22:02

I might also look at these; thanks for suggestions. Currently I wear a regular underwired bra with a sports bra over the top of it. It's a bit uncomfortable. I'm a 30H ish.
