I thought I had plenty, dh thought my holiday pile looked small so now I'm wondering...what do you think of my list

4 mix and match bikinis, 1 beach shirt
10 dresses (day & night, some more casual than others)
6 pairs of shorts
loads of vest and t shirt tops
1 light sweater and 1 linen over shirt
2 pairs sandals plus the ones I wear to travel
2 pairs cropped trousers

A bit less than you. But then I refuse to go somewhere that I can't do my laundry.

Ginslinger · 19/06/2016 21:34

I woud take 2 bikinis, 2 dresses, 2 shorts and some tops

JackandDiane · 19/06/2016 21:34

72

BeJayKayven · 19/06/2016 21:35

I'm going for 10 days and I have packed

3 tankinis
3 long trousers
3 jersey shorts
2 linen shorts
3 dressy tops
5 day vests
2 pairs of sandals
2 pairs of plimsoles
A long sleeve kimono for evenings

seefeld · 19/06/2016 21:48

That seems loads to me. I wore the following on a recent two week holiday:

2 x bikinis
2 x kaftan cover ups
1 x beach shirt

1 x shorts
1 x casual khaki trousers

2 x camisole tops
2 x linen vests
2 x t shirts
1 x cardigan

4 x day dresses
2 x evening dresses

1 x flip flops
2 x flat sandals

I probably could've done with an extra pair of shorts or a skirt tbh.

BeJayKayven · 19/06/2016 21:49

That's not so different from me then dancemom

blinkowl · 19/06/2016 21:52

It's loads. You've got enough to wear a different outfit for at least 18 days!

Ignore DH!

(Can't answer what I'd wear on a 2 week holiday as haven't been on one in at least a decade.)

Chewbecca · 19/06/2016 21:53

That's quite a lot. The only thing I might take more of is shoes. & some underwear!

I'd take something like:
2-3 swimwear
3-4 beach dresses
2-3 shorts + 5 vests
4-5 evening dresses
2 evening trousers or skirts + 6-7 evening tops

BeJayKayven · 19/06/2016 21:55

Yeah I might add some pants 😊
Thanks, I think there's more than enough.

poocatcherchampion · 19/06/2016 21:56

2 shorts
7 tops
9 pants
1 bra
2 bikinis
2 dresses
One cardi
1 sandals one flip flops
1 wrap thingy

That is my entire summer wardrobe so it wouldn't be more than that. I haven't worn long trousers since April so wouldn't bother taken any, possibly one leggings.

poocatcherchampion · 19/06/2016 21:57

I wash my clothes once a week which is why I have 9 pants etc. I would plan to wash everything once.

Tbh I have 3 small children, what I took would be the least of my concerns. I would never go back from minimalism now.
Too much baggage.

vitacoco · 19/06/2016 21:59

4 tops, 4 trousers/skirts, 1 sarong/scarf, 1 swimsuit, 4 pairs knickers, 1 bra, 1 pair ballet flats

Fits into a CabinMax rucksack, we always go hand luggage only.

Chewbecca · 19/06/2016 22:03

For 2 weeks I would always take 16 pairs of knickers Blush

lurkingfromhome · 19/06/2016 22:05

I'm going for 10 days. Have packed:

2 x tankinis
2 x kimonos
1 x denim shorts (not short short, nearly knee length)
1 x print shorts
2 x patterned jersey mini skirts
2 x plain long sleeved boho style tops (one navy, one cream)
10 x t-shirts & vest tops (all grey, black, navy, white)
1 x plain black throw-on jersey dress
1 X black sandals
1 X grey Converse
1 x navy/white espadrilles
10 x pants, 3 x bras (can wash these as I go along)

Am pondering taking long trousers but it is going to be baking so don't think I'll feel like wearing them.

Will travel in denim skirt, vest top, long black fringed cardigan and silver trainers.

Have packed nothing dressy as don't do anything remotely dressy on holiday

BeJayKayven · 19/06/2016 22:18

I wouldn't normally take longer trousers either but for this holiday it'll be a mixed bag of activity so I'm covering all bases.

OP posts:
nennyrainbow · 26/06/2016 15:13

I would take about half of that! Apart from the shoes where I would stick with a choice of two pairs in case one breaks or rubs. I usually pack light and wash stuff if necessary. Nice empty suitcase to bring stuff home in too.

NeverNic · 26/06/2016 18:20

Seems okay to me. I would take more beach cover ups and less tops. I always find I don't wear them. I also take a light pair of jersey harem trousers and some years one pair of jeans which I fly in, but you have longish trousers which equal the same. I also take 3 or 4 pairs of shoes. One beach flip flop, 1 day sandal and 2 evening sandals, one silver and 1 gold.

Vlier · 26/06/2016 19:00

For 4 weeks in Australia I brought:
2 skirts
3 tops
3 dresses
2 leggings for if its cold
2 vests
7 knickers
7 pairs of socks
3 bra's
1 bathing suit
1 pair of walking shoes
1 pair of nice shoes
1 nice handbag

Everything fits with eachother in style and color (navy, red and white).

1 wash every week.

I came back with four hats..... I always come back with more than I came with...

Artandco · 26/06/2016 19:06

I wouldnt take more than 3 pairs of pants. I always wash my underwear every evening in the sink when away so it's clean and can dry overnight. Having 14-18 pairs of dirty underwear floating around is disgusting imo.

Laquila · 26/06/2016 19:07

That sounds like a lot of dresses, OP, but if that's your standard holiday wear then I guess that makes sense. I'd maybe take a cardy and a sunhat but very much depends on weather. I would prob take something like:

3 x shorts
2 x harem pants
1 x maxi skirt
4 x dresses
5 x vest tops
3 x shell/sleepless tops
2 x t-shirts
2 x cardies/jumpers
3 x sandals
3 x bikinis
1 x kaftan/sarong
