Do you want ordinary cashmere socks (M and S do these - or used to ...) or those lovely, luxurious, fabulous cashmere socks (Brora)?

ProseccoPoppy · 17/06/2016 22:07

The White Company do lovely cashmere socks. My lovely friends bought me some in a hamper of fab gifts when I was pregnant and they were wonderful (and great during labour when u got incredibly icy feet).

ProseccoPoppy · 17/06/2016 22:08

Urgh "I" even. And too much "lovely" ...

Rshard · 17/06/2016 22:19

Yes to White Company cashmere socks. I hate my feet being covered and/or hot but these are perfect. I love them!

Fozzleyplum · 17/06/2016 22:19

I'd recommend Brora (in the sale!). These are supposed to be excellent too, but I've not tried them.

Statelychangers · 17/06/2016 22:42

Bought some for dh - they wore though in a couple of wears, really not meant to be walked in, more for bed wear.

EddieStobbart · 17/06/2016 22:46

Do they fall down and/or get holes in the toes easily?

FreeButtonBee · 17/06/2016 22:48

I only wear them in bed or inside my sheepskin boots (which I wear as slippers) when I am really really cold. Brora all the way. Obvs only in the sales. And hide from your DH who will shrink them in the wash.

Statelychangers · 17/06/2016 22:50

They get holes in very easily - gutted as I'd paid $$$ for them.

christmasmum · 17/06/2016 22:51

How do you wash them? Do you hand wash socks? Is it really worth that level of hassle?!

EddieStobbart · 17/06/2016 22:57

That's a shame. I love the idea of cashmere tights but think they would last one wear so can't justify.

Statelychangers · 17/06/2016 23:00

Cashmere piles very easily too - not a great look in tights.

Ilovewillow · 17/06/2016 23:02

The white company do lovely cashmere socks.

ProseccoPoppy · 17/06/2016 23:07

Mine are hand washed, just not by me (either DH or my work laundry service). I can recommend that approach! Mine have lasted pretty well so far.

FreeButtonBee · 17/06/2016 23:07

As I say I only wear as bed socks so am pretty slatternly on the washing front but defo hand wash or cold wool cycle on a trusted machine.

Buttwing · 18/06/2016 09:54

I wash mine on a wool wash and then just let them dry naturally. I usually wear mine as bed socks or around the house. They do get holes in ridiculously quickly though. I get mine in the Brora sale.

cressetmama · 18/06/2016 12:58

Mohair socks are just as lovely as cashmere... and rather more hard wearing. Corrymoor do great ones.
