Can you help me find a jersey maxi dress?

I've done that really irritating thing where I've decided what the exact thing I need to complete my summer wardrobe is, only to realise I can't find it anywhere and it very probably doesn't exist....

I'm after a casual sleeveless maxi dress in jersey/brushed cotton type stuff with a scoop neck and a couple of buttons to button down at the bust (I'm breastfeeding). I imagine it to be fitted on the top and then straight down from the waist, maybe with slits up the sides.

Don't suppose anybody's seen anything like this on the high street?

I thought it would be simple but may be completely deluded.

Thanks so much both! Am going to order a couple of Gap ones to try on. Fingers crossed! Was a dress I loved in Maq Boutique too but it's sold out.

Another option would be a skirt/top, probably easier for feeding, but this season it seems impossible to find maxi skirts that aren't bloody navy!

If you can do top skirt this is lovely. I have both colours

Maxi skirt

Gap dress is lovely but the model is 5'9" and she's slightly on tippy toes. As a 5'3" person I'd be tripping over about 6" of hem! Next does this as well - why??!! 5'4" is the average UK female height.

AgathaAsprin · 17/06/2016 08:55

I'm 5'7"/5'8" so should be OK. Skirt could be a good option too (the black as don't like the cobalt blue). Agree it would be easier for feeding. I would usually be put off by pleats as don't think they're very flattering and they can look a little bit frumpy but as they're not around the waist could be a go-er? Hmmmm.

I was similarly worried but it sits really well on me. I am 5'7 and size 12.

ChickyDuck · 17/06/2016 12:09

As a tall person whose maxi dress hunt is always foiled by mid calf length, I would say you can take stuff up, but not magic extra length! This is why!!

Dozer · 17/06/2016 12:55

Kiriemuir, thanks for that link, bargainous, what's pepperberry's sizing like?

Dozer · 17/06/2016 12:56

I am 5'8, not slim (ie the fabric has to stretch not just hang!) and wear flat shoes and loads of maxis trail on the floor, it's really annoying!

AgathaAsprin · 17/06/2016 13:18

Kirriemuir - sounds like we're the same size so going to get one! Thanks so much.
