M&S or Radley bag?

MamWithNoName · 13/06/2016 16:13

I need a new bag that I can use for work and have found the perfect style. M&S have one but then I saw a reduced Radley bag for not much more. I'm not in a profession where I have to look super-smart - I just want to look competent and have a decent bag that fits everything. I've never had an expensive label bag before and I would like your opinion as to whether a Radley bag will make me look like I'm trying too hard or flashing cash. Thanks.

Buy the one you like best.

:)

Imo a Radley bag will look a whole lot nicer if you take the dog tag off.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 13/06/2016 16:19

I don't think Radley bags have the dog tags any more so you won't offend delicate mumsnetters who are easily offendedWink

It's sort of an incognito Radley bag and I haven't found a dog but it does say "Radley" in the front. It's a nice bag - I just don't want to be showy.

I have a couple of Radley bags and I've had them for years, they wear really well.

MamWithNoName · 13/06/2016 16:23

Practical and beautiful - I think Radley is the one.

If you like it, but itSmile

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 13/06/2016 16:24

That would be choice too , because you know it'll last.

KP86 · 13/06/2016 16:26

I had a Radley purse which lasted more than three years before it started looking a bit ratty. And I didn't look after it particularly well. When I bought a new one I also got a Radley.

It's a good brand, even though it gets slated a bit on here. My purse has a warranty in case it wears badly as well.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 13/06/2016 16:28

They get slated on MN but in RL must of my friends have one or want oneWink

MamWithNoName · 13/06/2016 16:30

DameDiazapam - why do they get slated on MN?

Lots of posters claim they're 'naff.'Confused

notagiraffe · 13/06/2016 16:39

Bradley bags are gorgeous. Really plain, classic designs except for the dog and they last forever. Fantastic value for what they are. I love them and don't give a stuff what MN thinks.

notagiraffe · 13/06/2016 18:06

Radley not Bradley auto correct madness.

PrimalLass · 13/06/2016 18:37

I have a black Radley bag for work. It is fab, and there's not a single 'naff' thing about it IMO. This one:

The metal clasp on my three year old Radley bag broke after nearly daily use. I brought it back to the shop to see if it could be repaired. The shop manager said "I'm terribly sorry, all we can do is offer you a replacement bag" Shock Grin great customer service!

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 13/06/2016 22:11

I have it in tan.

NatalieRushman · 13/06/2016 22:58

I've just realised my mother removes dogs of her Radley bags! Starting to wonder if she's a secret mumsnetter...

OlennasWimple · 14/06/2016 11:34

Radley isn't flashing the cash: that would be a Fendi or similar Wink
