funeral attire

After some advice. I'm going to a funeral next week of an elderly, close relative.

I'm 24 weeks pregnant and have two clothes choices;

• plain navy dress
• black dress covered in tiny pink flowers.

I'm thinking the navy would be best...what do people think?

I would go with the navy. Probably with a black cardigan or cropped blazer.

Unless there is a request for brights or some other non-mourning dress code, in which case the pink flowers would be better.

Yeas, agree with above. Go for the navy. I'm sorry for your loss.

Having lost a parent I can honestly tell you as an immediate family member I would never have taken offence at what someone was wearing (unless it had been totally outrageous).

I was just grateful that everyone was there to remember, celebrate life, pay their respects and support me and our family. Although there is convention, to me just being there for us all meant more than anything.

So sorry for your loss.

Thinking about it further.. Style actually would have possibly upset me more than colour of a guests outfit. A bright pink conservative / formal dress that looks respectful would be far be preferable to a revealing, short, tight or low cut dress (you get the picture) just because it's black.
