long lasting black nail polish?

I'd like to give my nails a break from shellac but would like them not to chip in the meantime while I am using "normal" nail polish. does anyone have any recommendations for black polish? I'd like one that only needs 1 or 2 coats and isn't matt. thankyou!

I've got a black Barry M one which is good. I've had it a while but chip resistant and nice to put on

I've got a Boots No 7 think it's called Black Patent. Lasted over 2 weeks & it still looked OK when I took it off. Use a good base coat though cos it's really tough to get off.

I've two black nail varnishes - have Rimmel one on now (gel something or other range). It's certainly not matt - you definitely need a base and top coat though.

YY to Barry M - they have four colours in the black range. I bought two from Boots for £5 last week and they last.

I have a Sally Hanson black nail polish. It's part of the range (sorry I can't remember the name) which you apply like normal nail polish, but which is meant to act like shellac. I wouldn't say it is as durable as shellac but it does last a very long time compared to 'normal' polish. You also have to buy the special top coat.

Oh also it needs two coats of black followed by one with top coat. It comes out v shiny like shellac.
