Guests are asked to wear pink and/or yellow. These aren't great colours for me, I am a pale skinned dark haired Celt. I'm also not great at recognising colours. Ideally I would have a dress, slightly 40s style. I'm size 10, fairly large boobs and tummy not as toned as I would like. And I don't wear heels so it has to go with flats. Can anyone suggest any options please?

Is it a battenberg themed wedding?

I don't have any specific dress suggestions for you, but are there shades of yellow/pink that suit you better than others?

Anything here?

Nothing to add but I love the idea of the battenburg theme Grin

EustachianTube · 10/06/2016 14:44

😆 at battenburg themed. I bloody love battenburgs, I missed a trick there.

Could you go hot pink/ deep rose? I think that's your best bet with your colouring

This dress is nice but pricy? What's your budget?

Battenburg theme Grin Grin Grin. It's an Indian wedding, most guests will be in saris and dark colouring will look great with bright colours. Not so much me.

I like lots of those Nancy Mac ones but none are yellow and none really pink. I do like the JL one but Shock at the price. Something under £100 that I could wear again for dressy occasions would be best.

Yes hot pink or dark rose. I saw a dress I thought was dark rose but DH called it maroon (I'm colour blind so he's probably right) which is not really in the colour brief.

Ooh pinkcadillac I love the second to last dress, just my kind of thing and ok for fairer skin. I do wonder if my norks (a bit more ample than those of the model) would fit but think I will have to order it and find out! Now I need nice flat shoes which would go with it Smile

Quite similar shape to the John Lewis one. Perhaps not right colour - though I actually own the same dress in a different colour and it is very flattering on Smile

You are all so great!! I do like yours Ipsum but not the right pink for me I think. Eustacia the Phase Eight one is lovely, and a much better price than other ones I've liked!

When I try to put it in the basket it comes up as sold out Eustachian (got your name wrong before, apologies)

This Phase Eight dress is a very pretty pink.

EElisavetaOfBelsornia · 10/06/2016 22:07

That's quite nice Gloria. Would the pink be ok on someone a bit pale do you think?

OP posts:
Twinklestar2 · 10/06/2016 22:14

Would you consider wearing a sari or Indian outfit?

GloriaGaynor · 10/06/2016 22:33

Well I think it would be fine as it's not too pale as to wash you out, and it's not too strong as to be harsh against your pale skin. But you'd have to try it.

EustachianTube · 10/06/2016 22:43

Gah, shame about that phase 8 one.

How about this? Not sure about the dipped hem

EElisavetaOfBelsornia · 10/06/2016 22:56

Twinkle my DDs are wearing mini saris but I think I'd feel self conscious - like cultural appropriation. Plus I would definitely not get to wear it again.
Eustachia I actually saw that one and liked it apart from the weird hem.
