Are these sandals a bit cruise ships?

Not sure. Have just received them today and they're comfortable, but are they a bit glitzy in a safe way iykwim (not that I'm usually radical or anything)? They also come in black.

What do you think? I'm mid early 40s if that makes a difference.

Wink Hoggle (which my autocorrect now tries to change to Goggle).

I definitely am not a Per Una type; am normally in black with no frills or ruffles whatsoever! I do think they veer into Joyce is off on a cruise with hubby Bill, celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary...she's had her highlights done and splashed out on some new linen trousers, a few embellished tops and some lovely sandals territory.
Aaargh! Have definitely talked myself out of them.

of all the shoes on here your ones are the least offensive OP.

Motherwithflaws · 10/06/2016 17:23

The first ones are definitely nana on holiday. The Clarks ones are worth a try.

Cheapthrills · 10/06/2016 17:27

Are you actually going on a cruise ship?

MargotLovedTom · 10/06/2016 17:38

No I'm not going on a cruise ship Grin.

I've got them on now. They're bloody comfy.

Ignore ginormo-leg on the left - doesn't look like that in rl!

I think they would suit Joyce but not sure about you.

MargotLovedTom · 10/06/2016 17:51
Grin

I like them! But then I would rather poke myself in the eye than go on a cruise so have no idea what that means Grin

MargotLovedTom · 10/06/2016 18:10

Oh me too, I've been on a North Sea ferry crossing and that's about it Wink. It's hard to describe what I mean without sounding sneery.

AngieBolen · 10/06/2016 18:25

I think they look OK on your feet, OP.

MargotLovedTom · 10/06/2016 19:44

Thanks Smile.

"They look comfy" is always the death knell for me. Grin I had some beloved work shoes that got replaced as soon as people started saying "oooh they look comfy Smile" Confused

SirPugalug · 10/06/2016 19:53

I'm 30 and would wear them.

MsBojangles · 10/06/2016 20:45

Know what you mean, Enid, 'comfy' is the beginning of the end Grin

ManonLescaut · 10/06/2016 20:55

The alternative suggestions on this thread are a hell of a lot worse than the orginal - so frumpy they're actually frightful.

The gold ones look great on you OP.

ManonLescaut · 10/06/2016 20:58

Btw there are some very similar in Russell and Bromley for around £150.

ManonLescaut · 10/06/2016 21:01

And also these in LK Bennett for nearly £200.

MargotLovedTom · 10/06/2016 22:40

Thanks Manon the LK Bennett ones are nearly 10x the price of the Joyce ones, and you can tell Wink.

Enid I'm the one saying "Ooh they look comfy" these days. Damn you, sore feet!

OP posts:
ManonLescaut · 11/06/2016 10:39

Yes you can, but for £20 they're not far off.

AintNobodyHereButUsKittens · 11/06/2016 11:16

They don't look too comfy on. This may be the perfect scenario - look comfy but actually aren't.

AintNobodyHereButUsKittens · 11/06/2016 11:17

Duh. Are comfy but don't look it I mean.

MargotLovedTom · 11/06/2016 12:50

Yeah, I'm going to keep them and embrace my latent Judith Chalmers. My feet practically sighed in contentment when I put them on so I'd be mad to reject a pair of comfy heels (usually an oxymoron for me).

Ilovetorrentialrain · 11/06/2016 13:11

OK now I'm confused - they look fab in the pic of you wearing them!

Given your last post too - can see they're keepers.
