Alternative to Elemis Pro collagen marine cream

Can't justify the cost of buying this any more. Can anyone suggest an alternative for spotty 43yr old skin please?

I'm going to suggest this www.johnlewis.com/olehenriksen-vitamin-plus-cr-me-50g/p613177 but I can't personally recommend it cos spots are not my problem, but I've had a couple of things from ole that I've been really impressed with (as in they've helped what they say they'll help) so just putting it out there as a brand more than anything else.

I can't remmber if thats the day or night cream you're referring to, but I like the Superfacialist range at Boots. Their moisturisers have quite a similar feel to the elemis ones imo. They are a little over £10 I think.

Is there a magazine giving out samples of elemis at the moment? Either marie claire or elle I think. I stocked up a couple of years ago when it was also on some magazine and still have some left, I really don't rate it.... feels so watery to me....

Yes I think Marie Claire are giving away sample sizes at the mo.

I didn't like the marine cream as it was too light, so this might be no use for you, but it is far cheaper as you get 100ml for £30 and it is excellent.

I feel your pain OP, I fell in love with elemis after getting a couple of samples but just can't justify the price tag to buy more!

I've tried Elemis PCMC several times over the years but I don't like the smell and the results aren't enough for me to overllok this.

Ones I've tried:
Philosophy Hope in a Jar (the original and the new one). Nice but ££ (I buy from QVC if they have a special offer but they seem to be concentrating on the Pure perfumes which I don't want)

Aldi- various serums, creams. Work well for a time then make my eyes watery

Same with Superdrug Radience: the 2-in-1 serum is good, the cream stings my eyes.

At the moment, I'm using Bodyshop Vit E (the original and the intense for my neck. Not the aquasorbet, didn't like that)

I see the Superfacialist is on special offer in Boots, I'm planning buying some for DD (not sure which one though)

I've been looking for over a year for just this. I've tried the Aldi blue range and it was terrible. I've tried using serums under cheaper creams but not happy with any alternative yet. Last time I bought the biggest tub 100ml and searched for ages to get the best discount. Think I got it for £86 or something but recently haven't found good deals available so my skin is looking terrible. I should just starve for a week to get the next pot.

PP - Aldi cream also made my eyes water, sting a bit infact. Infact I even got a huge pink eye episode when using it and although may have been something else it did make me wonder.

Flora Mare Maritime Skincare, available from QVC, is a good alternative to Elemis's Pro-Collagen range and there'll be a FM tsv from midnight tonight which I'll be buying.

Ooh , I might have to watch QVC tonight..I love Axel Ruth (he is like a cross between Daid Walliams and Julian Clary, funny, bit naughty) though I haven;t tried any Flora Mare.

I am his Ideal Client, being a Woman Of Age (50) , I could do a Before/After photo and send it in .

What are you doing to address the spots? Maybe try a BHA (beta hydroxy acid) first to clean and clear the skin, then a AHA to gently exfoliate.

A decent Vitamin C serum used correctly will do wonders, but it takes time.

QVC's price for Elemis's Pro-Collegen Marine Cream is £80 for 50ml + £5.95 p&p but I prefer Flora Mare Day & Night cream 100ml for £26 + £3.95 p&p which has a thicker consistency and, although it's absorbed very quickly, it leaves my skin feeling fully moisturised for hours. As a little of this cream goes a very long way 100ml lasts for months.

This latest Flora Mare QVC tsv is from the Diamare anti-ageing range for 50+ skin and consists of 50ml each of day cream, night cream, and serum plus 30ml eye cream for £36.50 + £4.95 p&p and, given that you can try it for 30 days and send back without quibble if you're less than impressed or it doesn't suit your skin, I reckon this set is well worth a punt.

This seems to have been a popular TSV - the initial stock appears to have sold out as QVC's website is showing that orders will be shipped on 11 July.

If anyone is considering buying I suggest they do so sooner rather than later - payments won't be taken from bank accounts/added to credit card until next month which may make it easier for some to take advantage of this offer today.
