Holiday hair

So just about to go on holiday and want to avoid last years birds nest hair. Started off long and glossy but after a week in the sea and pool it was awful and tool months to get back to its normal good condition.

So I am thinking this year to get up sweep it all back in a bun with some sort of uv protection cream or treatment in.

Anyone tried this or have any tips please?

I do this on holiday as my hair is blonde and gets frazzled in hot sun. I used a Dove leave in conditioner with uv protection and combed it through in the morning and slicked it all back. A bun is good because you're tucking the ends in out of the sun.
When you get home, use a clarifying shampoo as all the product does tend to build up in your hair and a rich conditioner.
