just need a dress or a skirt and top will respond after work or as quiet times allow.

big bum and big thighs and wobbly tummy so nothing too short or clingy

Navy trouser suit works. Not black these days. Charcoal grey is fine but more difficult to source in the summer. Anywhere like M and S has loads of navy. The good thing is, you can wear it again. It does not scream funeral at you. If you want a dress - a navy dress. Even easier. I would keep it plain and simple.

I look awful in trouser suits. they never fit right

thats a lovey summer dress, wouldn't have thought of it for a funeral', wouldn't wearr leggings though. Maybe a little jacket rather than cardi to smarten it up a bit?

it comes in navy and black I was trying to decide which looked better. I usually go fir back nut was worried it would look too "night out" so was perhaps leaning to navy..

Even if you're the closest family, why not wear something you're comfortable in ..... And if that's not a dress, don't stress about it.

The Boden dress is nice, but not what I'd have assumed first if I wanted a "funeral dress" but if you're happy with it, that's the most important part,
Equally, leggings I wouldn't have said were "funeral smart", I'd got for tights instead ..... But again, you're just supposed to be you at the funeral, so if you think leggings work with it, fine.

I feel the same.way dr but I'm sure I'd be "that guest" if i turned up in jeans a t shirt and some battered skechers. I hate dressing up its so not me.

I think I'll give the halter dress a.miss. looks lovely on the slim 20 something model. I'd just look like "stifler's mum" at my age...

Giles, don't fret! Get something you will wear agin nd enjoy. A funeral is an hour at most and unless you go wearing an Hawaiian shirt and khaki shorts, no one will even notice what you have on.
It is my mums funeral on Monday. I am wearing black trousers, a midnight blue silk shirt and a loverly black cardigan affair that comes down to my knees, can't describe things well, but looks nice, can wear afterwards and I will be comfortable, not hitching up or pulling down😀
