nice leather boots... but with thick soles?

I broke my foot & ankle last year. Broken foot healed badly, one of my toes has started dislocating again - excruciatingly painful - and basically the only shoes I can wear without whimpering in pain all the way are big thick hiking boots/ trail-running shoes with stiff vibram soles.

Unfortunately there are lots of contexts where I need to wear "normal" shoes or boots.

Can anyone suggest some nice black leather boots with really thick soles?

I like things like Ecco Babett or Abelone - but the soles are a bit too thin.

I've got these in black and I love them - weirdly despite the thick sole they make my feet look smaller

What about boots by Fly London? They make ones with soles of various thicknesses. Also, any of these Dr Martens any good? (If you scroll down there are some zip-up styles).

Thanks! The Dr Martens Charla Broadway ones look great, just what I was looking for - but unfortunately noone seems to have them in stock in a size 5 in black or blue!

I've got some Fly London ones with super thick soles. Well worth a look. How about FitFlop trainers?
