Nasal hair waxing

Pinkvici22 · 29/05/2016 22:02

I've just waxed my nasal hair fir the first time - oh my god, it was amazing. I didn't even know I had such hairy nostrils!!!

I've done my fortnightly Lumea treatment to legs, bikini and underarms, painted my toenails, and then turned to my nostrils....

Wow.

How did you do this? I need to but am too scared! I asked at the salon once and they wouldn't do it as too delicate an area and they said you need the hairs to trap germs etc!!
Hairy nostrils is a not a look I wish to accept however!😬

lilydaisyrose · 29/05/2016 22:11

I pluck mine, so satisfying!

CuttedUpPear · 29/05/2016 22:11

I've read that you need the hairs to trap bacteria but surely children manage ok without excessively hairy nostrils?

Pinkvici22 · 29/05/2016 22:12

I got this kit off Amazon a while ago - Nads. I expected it to hurt (I have very small nostrils!!), but it was fine and strangely therapeutic.

A little waxy stick up my nose whipped out to produce what I can only describe as tiny spiders which obviously escaped from my nose Grin

I have tried plucking them, the pain was on a par with childbirth!!

Pinkvici22 · 29/05/2016 22:13

I have been plucking mine but it makes me sneeze and eye water...waxing is a revelation for me.

Doesn't it hurt? I pluck DH's for him every so often (the romance Hmm) and he says it's agony! Would waxing be better for him?

Patterkiller · 29/05/2016 22:14

DH has this done with his Turkish shave. It takes years off him.

I often wonder if news readers do this as they have such clean nostrils on close ups. I also have lots of spare time to ponder these things at the minute.

plannedshock · 29/05/2016 22:24

Ooooo I have mine done at the salon always have to look afterwards

mrsclooneytoyou · 29/05/2016 22:31

I use dps nasal hair trimmer Blush

StrawberrytallCake · 29/05/2016 22:37

I use a hair trimmer too not DH's, bought my own 😁 I've convinced myself every time I do it I get poorly though due to lack of hairy nostril protection.

Pinkvici22 · 29/05/2016 22:43

Oh god now I'm feeling very exposed (secretly praying I now don't get ill as a result of being so vain Blush)

God, I need to start waxing. Plucking is AGONY and so i trim. Which means I have snipped my actual nose lining more times than I would confess in public. My eyebrows are thinning and my nose hair is luxuriant. I would take germs over the nostrils of the elderly man.

rightknockered · 29/05/2016 23:32

I have never even thought to do this. Why do you? Are the hairs visible beyond the edge of your nostrils. I can only see it with a mirror and the aid of a lamp. When is nasal hair a problem?

Littleallovertheshop · 30/05/2016 00:04

Don't do this. Honestly. Trim or something. I lost my nasal hair through chemo and my nose just ran constantly. It was rank.

Tate15 · 30/05/2016 10:03

Don't do it if you suffer with hayfever or other allergies.

Nasal hair traps pollen, dust etc.

LazyCake · 30/05/2016 11:11

Interesting posts about the importance of nose hair, I started trimming mine last year with one of those mini electric razors and have suffered with hayfever more than ever this year. Confused

That said, I LOVE the idea of waxing up there! Off I go to Amazon to buy a kit...

Tate15 · 31/05/2016 13:18

If you are trimming your nose hairs, you can help trap pollen by putting Vaseline inside your nose as it will cost the short hairs and boost their pollen trapping power!

wordassociationfootball · 31/05/2016 13:33

Mine are definitely emerging from the nostril these days. I trim them individually with nail scissors.

SmellOfPythonInTheMorning · 31/05/2016 13:36

My beautician does it for me after waxing my upper lip. I love it.

Pinkvici22 · 31/05/2016 21:04

Update - nose is not running and I feel far better without little hairs poking down!!!

DH gets his done at the barbers -it's genius. Think they are Turkish too, like a pp mentioned

They stick a cotton bud covered in wax up each nostril and one in each ear -so he looks like shrek then tug them out 5 mins later - has to be the kind of wax that hardens.

MabelFurball · 31/05/2016 22:14

Unless they are actually hanging out, I wouldn't trim them. They are suppose to be one of the first lines of defence from germs.

BennyTheBall · 01/06/2016 20:08

Thank you, OP for this thread!

I saw it on here at the weekend and ordered some on Amazon Prime.

It was for DH. He's not hairy compared to a lot of our mates, but I do sometimes tweezer out black hairs from his nostrils.

Well this kit is fucking genius Grin Not least because it made me and the dcs laugh so much.

Who knew there was that much hair up there? It wasn't painful, more alarming (and very, very funny).

Pinkvici22 · 01/06/2016 21:14

No problems Benny - it's genius isn't it! It's one if my best random Amazon purchases!!Grin
