Looking for some advice please. Flying to New York from Ireland Tuesday morning(7 hr flight). Wondering should I wear jeans or will they be too warm when I get there. Also think of maxi skirt/t-shirt that I can layer . Any Ideas please!

It's roasting here right now but everything has ac so you need a shawl or cardi. Layers are the way to go

I did a long haul flight last summer and wore a cotton vest top, a comfy soft bra, £12 H&M harem trousers with a cuff (to avoid dragging on plane toilet floors) and a denim jacket with havaianas on my feet. I packed some fluffy socks and a big soft pashmina in my hand luggage.

I went to NY in June a couple of years ago. It was warm here at the time so I wore some light trousers, a t shirt and a light jumper. I also took a summery coat in my hand luggage. Arrived at around 6pm their time and it was pissing down with rain and a bit chilly. The next couple of days were really hot and sunny though. I think light layers are the way to go.

I don't think you can win with journeys like that. You leave England, perhaps in the early hours when it's still chilly, mooch around a hot Heathrow or whatever, board a freezing cold plane and pop out the other end to hot and humid weather. That said, I would put sandals in a front pocket of your suitcase and swap your in flight sweater for them when you land.

Thanks for all your suggestions. Looks like layering is way to go. Early flight from Ireland si it will be v cold, and arriving in NY at midday so will be roasting! I remember from previous trips to U.S that they are much more into air conditioning than European cities. Will def have cardigan and sandals in bag!!
