T shirt bras for the post-baby boob: a small rant

I used to have pretty standard pre-baby boobs. Could wear pretty much any bra (which is probably why I got away with wearing an entirely wrong 36C for years).

DS finally weaned so off I went to get myself some lovely new underwired boulder holders. To my slight surprise I have about the same amount of boob as I ever did (although i have rounded down rather than up on the band size which seems to discourage my boobs from taking refuge in my armpits as they now wish to do). But my boobs have become complicated. Even after getting the right size I was barely closer to finding a bra to actually fit. I have a sort of ski slope type look going on, with barely any boob at top of my boobs. This apparently happens to almost everybody post-baby. So there must be literally millions of us out there with ski-slopey boobs. More of us than the young, plump and nubile. And we spend more money on bras. But can I find a nice moulded bra that doesn't gape at the top? Not without fucking difficulty.

I know I can buy a balcony or whatever but I don't want my mams sitting on a shelf. I want them cosied up in a moulded cocoon. Why do they only make these things for the plump and nubile?! If I start selling T shirt Bras for the Empty-Boobed will I be a millionaire by Christmas?

Those moulded t-shirt bras don't fit anyone. Mine are quite full at the top (no babies yet) and moulded bras always give me a double boob effect. Try a normal non-moulded cup bra instead

Did you try a balcony style?
With that boob shape they don't look as much as a shelf, and can be pretty cocoon like.

I have exactly the same problem. The best of a bad bunch I've found are the full cup sumptuously soft tshirt bras from M&S. The band stretches a lot so err on the small side band wise. I'm going to go to bravissimo to try my luck there!

I ended up with a Freya Idol, which is a sort of balconyish t shirt bra. Quite pleased with it, although it's a bit of a shock to the system after flopping about in soft feeding bras for so long. I need a bit of moulding/padding as my nipples have no manners.

And (more to the point) why was it so hard to find? I have perfectly normal boobs for a mid late thirties woman. Why are we just expected to fold ourself into the ones that models look hot in? Is it because nobody would buy a brand which targeted the wrecked of boob?

Where did you go? Most highstreet shops have crap bras, designed to be cheap to produce, so all from the same mold and limited size range.

Good old John Lewis. It's nearby and I only had an hour to complete my mission. I think I'm just cross because I used to waltz in and pick up a few that looked pretty. Now it's like painful speed dating .

Try a Calvin Klein push positive. Dear but the best bra I've ever had.

You could try rigby and peller.

I now wear plunge bras, they fit post 3 EBF DCs (36C)

The Calvin Klein looks lovely but only goes up to a D . I might have to explore more spendy bras like R&P...

I had myself remeasured at JL, always having been on the small side, plus kids and weight loss I had the same gaping cup problem which the fitter solved with a CK bra that has a bit of padding built in under your boob. Not a proper push-up but a bit like it. I also found some normal ones at M&S that fitted my shape. Now 5 years later I have put on a stone of weight and the problem has gone away... more padding everywhere means I can buy cheap B cups and they fit well. Not exactly an incentive to lose the weight as that's where it will go first

I've found la senza surprisingly good recently. They wash terribly though so you have to do them by hand. I think you're supposed to do that anyway.
