Sorry another bra thread- I must be wearing the wrong size completely??!!

Right so I've just measured- 29.5 under bust and 32 around fullest part, can anyone tell me what size I should be wearing? I'm currently wearing 34b, which seems reasonably comfortable to me. I need to get a good strapless bra and have seen the Wonderbra Ultimate Strapless mentioned on here.

Any help would be much appreciated!

I get that as 30B which is hugely different to what you are wearing

Are you measuring according to the expert guide thing? 30b or 30c for starters i reckon. You're definitely not a 34 anything! But I'm not an expert. I'm sure there'll be more help a proper expert around soon.

See if I wear anything smaller than a 34 it feels so uncomfortable- I was wearing a 32 band before but since having DC that feels too tight- as for cup size I have no idea really, they've deflated since breastfeeding, which I'm still doing now (although not very much- DC is over 1).

If you boobs are no longer as perky as they once were then make sure you are measuring while they are well supported in a bra. Otherwise the measurement round the bustwill be smaller.

You sound pretty similar to me. I wear a 30C.

Did you measure the bust bending over?

A 30 will feel tight, but if you need the support, then it should be tight.
A 34 will do nothing at all for support.
A compromise, if you're not bust heavy, could be a 32. You'll need to get used to it if you've been going with less support.

I'd try leaning forward, as that will be the most similar to when wearing a properly supportive bra. They won't be constrained by another (possibly ill fitting) bra and won't spread sideways or down.

Of course you don't measure while wearing a bra!! An AA cup means both measurements are the same so not correct either

Thanks lweji. I have no idea what cup size to try- the underwire doesn't seem to fit and digs in around my boobs on a 32 band if I try smaller than a 32c...ugh I hate bras!

Check first what your measurement is when leaning forward. You may well need a cup larger than an A.

The other thing is even though I am slim if I wear a bra smaller than a 32 or 34 I will have back fat bulging over- I think I must just be really oddly shaped 😟

You need a bigger cup Size and a smaller band. Can you put a 32 on no cups (or backwards) if you can pull I'd away it's too big you should only be able to get 2fingers between you body and the band on the loosest hook.

FIS2016 - way off the mark - the band size is the underbust measurement, give or take! We no longer add 4-5"!

Maybe because the cup is too small?

I've just measured mine in both positions and got a 2 inch difference. That's two cup sizes!
The larger one is closer to my actual cup size.

The backfat, drive is because there's not enough room for your boobs, so it all displaces and pulls the band forwards, digging into the flesh on your back. If you're comfy in a 34B, I'd be inclined to try 32C or 30D (or even bigger cup - do measure bending over with no bra on) If there's enough room for your boobs, then your band doesn't get pulled too tight. Try a bra on backwards to see how the band itself feels. It should be fairly snug, but not digging in all round.

For band size perspective, I'm a chubby 14-16, at the moment and my band size is 32.

I will measure again tomorrow- thanks lweji, that could make a difference! I think I'd struggle massively with a 30 but maybe a 32 would be OK... I will try and figure out cup size tomorrow then go and try some on.

It's breastfeeding that has destroyed them ☹️ No volume at the top, they aren't really saggy but feel much less full.

One thing I read on here was to think of bras in terms of volume that the reason a too big band size fits is because the too small cup steals fabric from it.
All cups are not equal. A 30c's cup is not the same size as a 40c cup. All a c means is that your breast measurement (when bent over) is 3 inches larger than your band measurement not that all c cups are the same.

Thank you stick, I will try on a 32c again to see... I think a D would be too big, I think there's too much space in my bra cups atm but a smaller cup would give me that 4 boob look

Honestly measure properly and try a 30 in the correct cup. A 30 in too small a cup size will be tight because your breasts are stealing space from it. If you are in the correct cup size a 30 may feel great. Put the bra on and scoop from under your armpits to get the breast tissue that sinks under there too. My boobs look huge in the right sized bra in the wrong size they look non existent.

If the bottom of your boob is larger and the top part is flat or deflated, then I really recommend a balconnette bra, it really makes a difference for me

Incidentally where is actually good for bras? I tend to always head for m&s

I'm similar to you and actually a 29B. I found the 32C was a really good fit in CKlein. I bought three of Calvin Klein Push Positive BRAS from Debenhams. Nice digging in. No wire. Excellent support. Ck bras come up small in general so definitely give the Push Positive I try. Really expensive but soo worth it!
